We shared a wonderful Thanksgiving feast with friends at their home; a yearly tradition.  Everyone brings things to eat; way to much food although there are several families present.  Then I got the Valk out and rode across Norris Freeway, thru Clinton and back thru Powell back home.  Just a short ride but I wanted to make sure the leads for my Gerbings gear and GPS were working.  Had to have some excuse didn't I?!  Now I'm ready for a long ride Saturday with "The Wild Bunch" from Clinton!

Rub it in Bernie, we up here in cold country, we probably done for the year.

Will try New Year's Day again this year.

Ride NY Day every year has now become a tradition.

In 30 years, I've only been stopped once.

It might just be from the garage to the street, but it is a ride.

The year I couldn't ride, last year, we had about 2" of ice on the roads.

So I rode from the back of the garage to the overhead door, but the kids told me that didn't count.

R.J.  I know what you mean.  I try to ride to Crackerbarrel for breakfast every New Year's day if the weather lets me.  Last year I was able to ride almost every weekend.  I finally broke down and got some Gerbing's heated gear.  Should have done it a long time ago, but it sure makes a huge difference.  Gloves, socks and jacket.  As long as the roads are clear I can and do ride.  We are very lucky to be able to ride all year here in Eastern TN.
