i took someone's idea...and had some 3/8 inch steel plug welded to the bottom of her stock foot. it works perfectly! ok, only one issue. The BRAND NEW stock spring for the valk i bought...when i put it on the stock kickstand (with the welded plug)...it's a tiny bit TOO long. So, it doesn't quite have enough tension to hold it FULLY retracted. So, i'll have to bend one end and shorten the spring a little. Another project for another day.............

but the height of the bike on the stand now .....is perfect!

I bought a kickstand pad from Rivco for a VTX 1800 and it fit without me having to do any grinding. Used a rubber mallet to tap it in and put the set screw in. Worked like a charm.       cooldude

But I'd think he'd not take kindly to be used as a pad.
