Recently, the plastic impedance load/coupler inside the black tube in the center of the 4' antenna broke.  I have both left and right factory antennas.  Is the left antenna AM/FM or CB?  Also, does anyone know where I can buy another replacement impedance load/coupler to repair my antenna?  If I can't find or buy a replacement impedance load/coupler, where can I buy a left replacement antenna?

Thanks for any advise!

I don't have the left ant, but as far as I know that is the CB antenna. The regular one, right side, is the radio, as that is the one I have on my IS.

As for it's replacement, I'll leave that for others. I would look at the usual house online we get replacement parts from.

the left antenna is the CB antenna.  i'm not a CB expert, but i would think that you can use any coupler, i would make sure you do an SWR test on your antenna.  if you don't you run the chance of ruining your CB.  do some research reguarding an SWR tester, i don't remember how it works, i just remember ruining a CB once when i was younger 'cause i didn't have the antenna tuned correctly.

I was told at one time that the GL1200 CB antenna will screw right on.  Sierra Electronics told me that, and at the time they had some factory and aftermarket ones available.  You might check with them.

I was looking for a CB antenna when I added a CB and went with a Sierra combo product. (AO-GL12-ANT GL1200 ANTENNA) This antenna fit the right radio mount. It is a folding antenna as well. It requires thier antenna splitter, CP-27F. If I recall there is an adjustment on the splitter and the top part of the antenna is held by a set screw which would allow some up down adjusment. So SWR adjustment should be possible. Note there is a CP-27 splitter but it has a PL-259 connector for the CB lead and will not connect to the Valk CB.

I went with the Yamaha Royal Star Venture CB as it was easier to locate then the Honda CB. Mounted it under the trunk using the HOnda bracket and extended the power lead.

I will soon (after Christmas) have a left side and right side OEM I/S antenna available.  The part that screws onto the base is cracked (some PO overtightened) on both, but the CB portion works.  If you are interested, PM me.  Stan
