I need recommendations for an auxiliary fuse box.  I’ve researched correct fuses on the tech site and others and just need confirmation (or correction) on the following:

Auxiliary headlights 55w PIAA   -    15 amp

Motosens gauges (Volts, temp, fuel) – 5 amp

Belly tank with fuel pump  - 10 amp

What do you think?  Thanks.

Wire it with heavy enough wire for 30 amp.   That way you will be safe if you decide someday to run elelctric clothing.

Mine has 2, 30 amp fuse blocks.........   1 is almost empty, right now it is only feeding 1 of the links.  Overkill, but I know anything I want to use is covered.

thanks.  I am using a Power Center 8, and it ahs a main fuse to the Hot for a 30 amp.

I plan to run my electric clothing through a Powerlet on the handlebars, it has its own 30 amp fuse and relay direct to battery and seperate ground.

The other items, aux lights, motosens, and belley tank will run through the PC-8.  It has what looks like 14 ga. main wire and the switched wire is run to the aux inputs (5 amp fused in main stock fuse panel)

I just wired an auxillary fuse block on my I/S.  Here is how I determined fuse sizes:  Volts X Amps = Watts.  So in the case of your PIAA lights:  12Volts X ??Amps = 110Watts,  110 W/12 V = 9.16 A.  So a 10 Amp fuse should carry them.  As for the other items you listed, I don't have enough info to figure them, but what you suggest sounds adequate, if not more than enough.  It is not a good idea to use a much larger fuse than necessary, (say a 15A where a 5A will carry the load) as you want the fuse to blow before anything gets hot enough to burn.  Just my .02 worth.  Stan

I just re-read my response.

DUH: it is what i wrote, but not what i meant.

Let's try this again.

Heavy wire, 30 Amp block, THEN, use the size of fuse ya need.

Does that make more sense?

My 2 30 amp blocks only carry the following fuses.
5 amp, 10 amp (2), 15 amp (2) and a 30 amp.

other one only has a 5 amp in it.

What I was trying to say was go big, and only use what ya need of that terminal  to supply the power.    The 30 amp runs my 50 Watt Cobra light bar.    Not to worry, the Light Bar does not have any of the original wire in it or switch.   Well, I lied there, the switch is there but not used.
