Any recommendations for a nice looking drink holder that can hold a bottle of water/soda/coffee cup   (like from 711?)

Thanks.

well I know it will not hold a soft cup, but i bought a cheap bike water bottle holder from walmart, (for mountain bikes)
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Bell+Sports+-+Universal+Bike+Water+Bottle+Cage/9328854.p?skuId=9328854&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=9328854&ref=06&loc=01&id=1218089801662
the last bike I spent more money on a motorcycle bottle holder and as far as I can tell it is the same thing :-/  I carry a travel mug 24 oz coffee cup to work, and it holds a 1 liter water bottle for trips.

I also carry a reusable water bottle that I can transfer juice or pop to.  just have to rinse it out in between.

not sure this will help you, but after trying a few options it is what I ended up with, and cheap

a bottle of gatorade and the larger rounder bottles of water will ride above the handle bars on a tourer. If it is empty it could try to fly away, but with eve a little liquid left it works there.

McDonalds sweet teas fit there too but they leak.

Frank Smoak makes these, and Big Mike sells them... they keep your coffee hot, and I've followed Frank
through Charleston SC on a hot summer day as he and his son drank a milkshake that stayed
good in there long enough for them to get it down...

I have the open holder from Kuryakyn... it hooks on a modified bolt that goes in the clutch side handlebar housing... holds just about anything and you can easily take it off when you want to and unlike alot of other, dosen't clutter up the handlebars... Holds most anything including large cups. I have only had an empty Mikey D's cup fly out on the Hwy.

Not on the Kury site but found it here

http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?Category_ID=10&manufacturer_ID=16&product_ID=36373&sblid_name=Kuryakyn_Snap_N_Go_w_Universal_Bracket

Hope it helps, but there are a ton of others on fleabay....

+1 on Big Mike's.  I have two, keep it nice and hot, and will even keep an iced drink cold for an hour in hot weather!

Works great, holds many different types of containers. The only downside is their price...

The advantage to a wife holding it is that it helps keep them awake on really long trips. Also a nice cold bottle of water between you feels nice for both of you on hot days.

I probably went about as inexpensive but still functional as you can go. I have had these fold up style plastic adjustable cup holders on my roll around tool box at work and home for years. Bought them from the local R.V sales and parts supply. $6.99  . They hold skinny cups,  plastic water/sodas bottles, all the way up to Big Gulps. The only problem I have had is vibration caused by washboard roads loosening up the grip on my heaviest drinks. To mount it on the handle bars I purchased two clamps I think they are referred to as conduit clamps they came 2 for $1.00 at Lowe's hardware. I then bought two stainless screws and acorn style nuts at the farm and home. The holes on the back of the drink holder had to be opened up a little to except the bolt size I had purchased.
Here without the cup ,the texture on it resembles the inside of the fairing

and here one through the windshield of the mounting

I had one of those swivel ones. Well, they swivel; oh yes they do. Right into a sideways or upside-down position. Mess...
Still looking; some interesting links to follow above!

I stop for coffee in cold weather.

I got on that mounts to the clutch housing. Fold down when I need it. Kinda hidden. Got it from six2go years ago. Been a good holder. It'll hold 32 oz from the gas station. Gets a little bouncey with cans of beer, er I mean pop.  Evil

I have the cruzer caddy cup/bottle holder.  It's chrome and looks cool and all, but the problem with it is that it swivels.  I can uually keep up with it and catch it in time, but it's really a pain in the rear when there's a tall bottle in it.  I've lost a couple of bottles of water on the highway 'cause I couldn't catch and straighten it up fast enough.  It always wants to lean forward from some reason...never towards the rear.  Don't know why it does that.

I'm looking for something different too.  I've never heard of the Barefootwillies holder before, but I'm thinking it looks promising.

I've got the chrome CruzerCaddy that is removable from the handlebar bar that I like alot.  It holds water bottles, coffee cups and fastfood drink cups well, but the best way I use it is with my Camelbak water bottle.  On long rides, everytime we stop, I fill the Camelbak to the top with ice and then fill with water.  Ice keeps it cold for a long time, and as the ice melts, it adds water back to drink.  Best thing about the CruzerCaddy is that it is just big enough for the Camelbak to fit into and the way it mounts, it doesn't swivel, so no matter how full my drink is, it doesn't tip over.

Anyone who rides with me knows I go on no ride without my coffee.  This is what I have.

It's not the nicest looking, but it's the most functional. It holds just about any size bottle, cup, or can.  It's called the "Motorcycle Drink Thing", made locally here in Taylor, MI by bikers, Arthur and Linda Druyor.  They are good people.

If you are mainly interest in summer drinking water you might check out the Butler Extreme Mug.  I find that their 20 oz. mug holds enough water with ice to run my I/S tank dry even on those hot summer days.  It also comes in a 34 oz.  It mounts to the clutch resorvoy and is out of the way, even though it is pretty large.  It is not chrome, but well insulated and it stays put even on the roughest of roads.

May not be the prettiest thing out there, but I LOVE my Drink Butler. Been using it for a VERY long time, it holds the mug very securely. You need to use the mug that it comes with and drink from a straw, which can be a bit awkward getting used to for hot beverages, but... it just works...

Looked far and wide, searched on here too...finally went with the Willy. Haven't installed it yet. cursed winter...  tickedoff No point.

Pointless trivia - but the best I ever had was the BMW holder when I rode the 1200LT. No swivel or roll. Adjustable arms. Folds into a flat piece, snaps open at a push of the button. But - expensive and proprietary.
So I knew what I was looking for in a holder, just couldn't find one like that for 1-inch bars.

First of all, LOVE THIS!  Anyone tried to make one?  I can't be that difficult.  At $40 it's not on the priority list, but I image this could be accomplished by DIY.

Mine is a Bike Buoy.  When it's empty is squeaks a little, but typically can't hear it.  It holds cans, bottles, and I've carried 16oz styrofoam cups in there, but don't push down too hard or you'll spring a leak.  It came with the bike, so it had a nice price.  My buddy at work tonight was just commenting about it, so it's funny the subject was brought up here.  He said I should drain a beer can and fill it up with sand to weight it.  It's wouldn't be illegal since it hasn't been opened, but I'm sure it would cause additional hassle.  Oh yea, and if your drink isn't a tight fit, it's liftoff when it's empty.  I ride with a full face helmet, so normally doesn't happen to me, but on a cruise it could if I'm not paying attention to how much I drink when I stop.

I have a Kury 1464 stainless cup and holder.  It holds standard sized travel cups, but make sure if you use another cup that the lid is lower with a lip and not flush, you will get an occasional slosh and the lip keeps it from landing on your tank.  The cup I now use mainly is one with a push top in the center of the lid to open or close the flow and it has a handle which makes it easier to grab and put back.  I usually fill it with ice at a local fast food eatery and occasionally the  refills of Ice Tea to go.  It also serves well for coffee.  Regardless of what your fav beverage is, you can refill it whenever you like.

Here are some choices that I got when I Googled Kury Cup Holder....
