I'll definitely be there, Oss! It'll be good to see you again. Is Bonnie coming along this year?

I'm not sure I'll make it back to MI either, but I just might have to pull both the VOAI Family Reunion and InZane again...

Maggie Valley is, in my opinion, the best little town up there. It's like going back in time... I guess
billions and billions of dollars have flooded Cherokee and the other gambling towns up there, and all
the traffic madness has followed. From Maggie Valley you can be on the BRP in ten minutes
without having to sit in traffic.

If the links don't work for ya, the short answer is Maggie Valley, NC.

This sounds like fun. My neighbor just said he wanted to hit a Valk meeting sometime. I wonder what I'm doing in July? I won't know until later. Hopefully you'll remind us sometime in June.

Does VOA still do Valks over Helen GA? That always sounded like a fun gathering but never made it down.

Is Inzane the last week of July?  I would like to meet up with everyone in Maggie Valley but want to make Inzane next year too.  Doubt that I can make both if they are that close together.

Personally I think it was a bad move on Taz's part to pile this right on top of InZane it can only hurt attendance for both events. Maggie Valley is in my backyard more or less and I was hoping to make it however it's not financially possible for my pocket to do both. I've got a couple friends wanting to ride up to Michigan with me next year so that's where I'll be spending my money. InZane ...Bring It...LET'S RIDE  Smiley

Maggie Valley, NC and Bellaire, MI are about 830 miles apart so for many, sadly, it may be an either/or event.  Sad

Wow, Oss, you really put me in a rather bad position.  I obviously can't remove this thread without looking very petty.

Let me just say that InZane is very important to the VRCC.  Attendance at InZane is what makes or breaks the deal.  We obviously negotiate with the hosting hotel assuming a particular attendance range.

We've got a couple of hurdles this time.  Return to a location for a second year has both positive and negative elements.  On the positive side is familiarity with the contacts.  On the negative side is attendees who don't see a need to come back having once been.  Bumping up against the VOAi rally 800 miles away isn't going to help us out.

We need a good attendance this year.

I know that a lot of our members participate on both the VRCC and VOAi boards.  I'm not really interested in fishing in their pond and don't believe they really need to fish in ours.

That said, if one of our members is UNABLE to attend InZane, I'd like to see him our her be able to go somewhere to enjoy the Valkyrie community.

I'm more than certain that if someone is choosing between the two gatherings the VRCC's InZane XI in Bellaire, Michigan (27 - 31 July 2011) will be the much more rewarding of the two.

I hope to see you all in Michigan and I hope the VOAi's gathering is a huge success, but peopled only by those who truly can't make it to InZane.   Smiley

I live about half way between the two venues so I might try to do both. I could stop by home after Maggie and do laundry, kiss my honey "hello" and "goodbye" and head North. Or I could do one or the other, or I could do neither one. Time will tell.

Carl,  You couldnt be petty if you tried.   Roll Eyes

I wish there was some way the rallies could dovetail but it doesnt ever seem to work out.  Every year I look for a way for me to take off 10 days and do both rallies. Every year I have been dissapointed in the scheduling.  It is almost impossible to please everyone I suppose so each does his or her own thing.

I have always tried to make both but some years I hit the Voai ride and some Vrcc and some both

Bonnie and I had a great time in Michigan and I hope everyone who can ride out there does so this year again.   Finally meeting Timbr and Chilli and TP and Gear Jammer and JoeValkIS and Marcia, Stude31, and Oz (Oss and OZ in the same room lol) and Connie so many others and of course the hundred folks I had met before. And of course the ride out with my friend the Gman was terrific and so was seeing Gig again and his personal assistants.

But I also had a blast riding to LaCrosse and seeing Jetdriver and his wife, Challenger,, Alph, JimC, ChicagoMark, Keith and his wife, Nitro, Turnboy, Taz, Griz, TrickyDick and his wife and so many others.  Its all good.  Its like love, you cant love too much your Valkyrie   We all love the Vrcc and wish it success  I dont think anyone is fishing anywhere. Its a big ocean and I look to see folks cross it to
make Inzane this year (right Dag? you might even get an award)

So Dont consider yourself anything but lucky to be involved in producing an event that brings together hundreds of riders who enjoy your company and also love strawberry pie (hint for Lori)

I think you will have a great attendance this year and wish all safe winds to whatever their destinations

I will have to ride to Inzane with SmokinJoe and "The Wild Bunch".  I can't make both but may be able to do the other some other year.  Maggie Valley is in our back door so we can go there anytime.  I hope both events are great sucesses and those that can't attend one, can and will attend the other.

Thanks for the update on Maggie Valley, OSS.

I have made BOTH Inzane and the VOAI Reunion since I got my 97 almost three years ago.  I love both of them, and both clubs.  I wish the best to both.

I loved Inzane in Bellaire, MI last year, and already had detailed plans to go again in 2011.  Since Inzane had been about the 2nd or 3rd week of July since I have had my bike, I made committments based on those tentative dates for Inzane.  However, Inzane was move back to the last week of July, so we are unable to make it there.  Very disappointed.

However, we will now go to Maggie Valley, NC, with the VOAI.  They have a great ride in, with great people.  It has no venders, just getting together of Valk, and some other makes, of bikes.  Eating together, shooting the breeze, etc.  Smaller, more informal, more personal.  Great time.

Hope to see those of you who cannot make Inzane, or who can make both, there, and have a blast.

I am hoping that more people show up at Bellaire for the 2011 Inzane than made it there last year.  IT WAS A GREAT TIME!

I hope the VRCC and VOAI can work together for the support of both clubs.  Both are a little different, but both are for the Greatest Bike ever made!

I would like to see more cross posting of events between the clubs, and more attendance by members of both at events of both clubs.  If the VRCC is open to this, I know the VOAI is.  Inzane, and other VRCC events, are welcome to be posted on the VOAI board.

Sorry we will miss you all at Inzane in 2011.  We will be planning on attending again in 2012!  Enjoy Michigan, we did.

Although I’m not a member of the VOIA, I had a blast “crashing the party” in LaCrosse last year!!  Bellaire was a beautiful resort also.  The problem is, I can’t stand doing things with out the wife and kids involved.  I’ll have plenty of time to ride when they’re grown, and gone, until then they’re my first priority.  Unless something happens, and I miraculously receive more vacation time from work (I can’t justify spending the 1 week of vacation on just my self), or the wife decides to come along, I don’t think I’ll be going to either venue.   Sad

By the way, can anyone give me a reason why a company won’t let a person take time off unpaid?  What harm does it cause??  (other then overtime for the guys that have to make up my hours?)

That is my opinion too.  If it was not for my prior committment, I would be riding to Bellaire from Maggie Valley.  Would leave Sunday AM, and arrive around noon on Monday.  Not hard at all.

Hi everyone, I don't post often but read just about every day. There have been many answers to my new Valk owner questions just from browsing here.
I had looked forward to perhaps meeting some of the VRCC family in 2011, was really hopefull that Inzane would be more southerly this year. The announcement of a up north repeat was disappointing.
It would seem that spacing the event out each year would offer more attendance possibilities but perhaps there is a larger number of members up north. It would also seem that one or the other group could space out the dates to make it comfortable to schedule for all concerned, members and vendors alike. As Spock would say, illogical.
As a trade show vendor attendee in another industry I often have to deal with schedule conflicts, can't make them all ... guess it will be Maggie Valley this year, perhaps VRCC will visit the south next year.
Ride safe and smiling, see ya all on the road somewhere ...

We will see you at Maggie Valley this year.  Great.  Hopefully then next year you can make Inzane, or better yet, both events.  It just happened this year that they are only a week apart.

Last year VOAI Reunion was in LaCrosse in June, and the year before it was early August in Marlinton, WV.  The year before, my first for both get togethers, it was in the Black Hills of SD in June.

Don't rule it out yet. We still have 7 months left before Inzane. I know I can't wait. I'm from the Flint, Mich area anyways. Inzane this year falls on the same weekend as my family reunion, so I'm just going to wave to them on my way though.  Grin
