I got my maiden head the other day. Has anyone (I saw Dag's) installed one on their fender yet?
Will that little piece of tape really hold it on there, even when you screw up and go down
the cobblestone street in Savannah?

I've had some nice relatively smooth cobble stone rides albeit short. Although I've had a few nearly life changing experiences on cobble stone too. Don't trust coblestone. If you ever find yourself behind the childhood home of Jimmy Stewart and think that the downhill cobbled alley looks like fun...it's not.
Cobblestones have nearly shaken me loose, but not my teeth. Odd. Can't trust 'em.

I have not gotten mine yet, but I plan to temporarily mount it with the tape to determine position (and whether I really want it on there) before drilling holes. I know that mounting tape is pretty strong but I can see it flying off when a pothole jumps up and bites.

If you prioritize front to back then the maiden head is first (unless you want a fender rail).

We got ours...... there are some bubbles and bumps in the chrome... Sad.. enough that I would not want to put it on the bike.....But will make a cool paper weight.

EDIT by HG......Got a note and all will be set right by the fine folks at the VRCC......It REALLY is a cool piece!!!!!!!

What kind of "bubbles and bumps" are you talking about? I know mine is not as smooth as I expected. I also have some "scratches" beneath the chrome, like deep sanding marks, not real obvious, but definitely there. Where the bumps and bubbles in the casting, or the chroming, do you think?

I'll admit, it wasn't quite what I expected from the pictures, and other castings and hood ornaments, etc, I have bought, but then again, it wasn't as expensive, either. I don't think I'll put it on the bike, either, but it is an interesting piece. Not sure exactly what I'll do with it, but I wasn't sure when I ordered it.

Mine came in with a little bubbles in the chrome also. Here are some pics that show it fairly well. It is a nice paperweight but the chrome will keep her from being mounted on the Valkyrie.

Except for her acne, she's a mighty pretty lady!

Mine showed up a few days ago.  However, Sweet Tooth promptly grabbed the package away from me and I haven't seen it since.  Tomorrow's my birthday, so I guess I'll finally get to see what it looks like then...unless she decides to hang onto it until Christmas.  There's a thought I didn't need to have!   tickedoff

Mine looks better than that by far! I don't know if I will mount it or not but the quality of mine is very good.

If anyone who ordered one of the ornaments is dissatisfied with what he or she has received, please drop me a line and we'll do what we need to do to make things right.

I'm personally not a fender ornament kind of guy, but the ones I looked at seemed that placed on a nice wood base they would make a beautiful desk decoration.
