Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in an Interstate and a standard frame?? thanks..

Not an expert, but there were no design changes in the engine or tranny from '97-03. The I/S engine guards are the only thing that is different, everything else can be interchanged between  years.

It is my understanding that the interstate frame has some additional gussets below the rider's seat.  In addition the lower rear engine on the interstate is mounted in rubber. But I don't know if the frame is modified in that area to accommodate the rubber mounts.

The Frame part numbers and prices are different, but the Sub-Frame and Cross Pipe numbers are the same.

Thanks guys cooldude we tore into a friends Valk the other day and found it had been wrecked. The frame repair was a real hack job, he was a little  tickedoff.. He has a Interstate donor bike with a good frame, I think from what I'm reading it'll be worth a shot. thanks again for the info Cool..
