Why would anyone shave a cow like that?

I had posted on here about a year ago that I had wanted to backup the music on my iPod (yep, the one I ride with, so it is Valk related).  My iPod is synched with a PC that the hard drive gave up the ghost on and I have some music already on iTunes on this PC.  I want to back up the music on my iPOD, add them to this library and resync my iPod and another iPod.

Conventional windows explorer does not see an iPod when connected.  Someone gave me a link to some software that allowed you to take all the music off an iPod and store them on a hard drive a year or so ago (here on the VRCC).  Well, that was the PC that has crashed, so I have lost the software.

Can someone help me with what software can backup the MP4 tunes on my iPod and store them on a hard drive?

Thanks.  PS:  Here my iPod hanging - so yes, it is Valk related.

There is some software from this company that does what you want but you have to pay for it if you want to copy more than 10 files.

http://www.xilisoft.com/

But IIRC you can use Media Monkey from http://www.mediamonkey.com/ which is free to do the same thing.

Just checked on their site and yes you can do what you want with Media Monkey  cooldude so forget the first link.

Hey Strider,

Is there an Apple Store near you or near one of your upcoming trips?  Go to http://store.apple.com/us and do a store search in the top left of the page.  If so, and it's not too much stuff to carry, go online, make an appointment, take all your kit to the Genius Bar, hand it to one of the Genius kids, and explain what you are trying to do (want them to do for you).  I've had good luck this way.

Hope this helps,

You may find something free if you search around  but here's a link to a well known piece of software to copy your tunes back to a pc. $20.00

It's called Pod to PC
