This may be old news but it is really cool. Cilck on "gallery", then 360.
Definitely worth visiting-spent 10 min. just poking around. I want one.

That looks pretty slick, If it's like their other products, it should prove pretty reliable. I don't care for their "little" cars, but everyone that owns one swears buy them. They prove to be dependable high milage, low maintenance vehicles. All in all, I believe they put out some quality.
They also put out something called a Valkyrie once, this bike was amazing. A real performance cruiser that had a cult-like following Grin

I have seen it several times at the Oshkosh Air Show.  It is pretty and seems to fly well, but at the present time there is a lot of competition in the market that they are attempting to break into.  How the buying public will take to the above wing mounted engines is yet to be determined.  I am sure it is a good aircraft, but will it sell?  That is something that Honda is still scratching it's head about...JTL Undecided

why Honda doesn't have time to design a new Valk

here are 10 reasons;

1. too busy trying to make a loud engine sound tough.
2. afraid of global warming?
3. japan is a small country so going across it isn't a big deal if you're uncomfortable.
4. honda engineers believe "american chopper" is the american cycle model.
5. leather grundies from the tough guy image they got from sturgis.
6. speed kills, v-twins don't.
7. they all ride hardleys.
8. they've been bitten by the v-twin bug.
9. that flat 6 scares them.
0. 'cause they're idiots.

simple. the valk was discontinued because it interfered with gw sales. nothing interferes with gw sales pahleese!! thats the only reason...its all about the money.

so, a new valk would be out of the question. besides, the valk was designed by americans for americans. there no use for a muscle cruiiser on the streets in japan...

Don't know about the GW sales idea but I do know the Valk stopped selling in any real numbers.  Even leftover Interstates, brand new in the crate were selling for $9,999 in an effort to get them out of the warehouse and out of the dealers inventories.

Like many things, the Valk is appreciated more now that it's long discontinued than many were brand new.

Bad timing with the V-twin craze reaching it's zenith just when the Valkyrie needed the sales to be continued. I can remember Honda salespeople touting the VTX line while no mention of the valk back in '02-'03. Everybody seemed to want a HD or a clone & by God they got 'em. Grin Sad
Honda does seem to have completely forgotten about the cruiser market in the U.S. Probably for a variety of reasons.
Thank the Lord for the legendary Valkyrie reliability & longevity!  cooldude
