thankfully Frank Zappa is in there, the world became 'strickly commercial' on december 4 1993 when Frank Zappa died of prostate cancer. the world became alot less weird that day, may he rest in peace.

I agree that the R&R HOF has chosen to go obscure when the obvious seems to make much more sense.   ???

... don't go where the huskies go,

Rush, All time favorite along with the others mentioned. Zappa? No comparison to the witty talent. True to his nature. Saw him twice. Actually remembered one of them. :2funny:n The people at R&R HOF are a bunch of Zombie Woofs. I think I will just pack up my Pigmy Pony and ride off to Montana. Yippie Yi YO Ti Yay!!!! I think today I will load up on the Valk and ride of to a mythological place for lunch. Smiley Zappa could of wrote a great song about the legends of Valkyries don't you think. It has all the makings of a Zappa song. Beautiful maidens, Horses, Fantasy. 2funny Rush's album 2112 reminds me of some Valkyrie myth. Am I on to something here. Too bad I can't sing or play the guitar, I would be an Overnight Sensation. I crack myself up. laugh Cheesy

This will probably highlight my ignorance, but I had to google Darlene Love and I'm still at a loss as to why she got the nod.

Sorry folks, but anyone that grew up in the late 40's and first half of the 50's knows what rock and roll really was.  2funny

It was banned on many radio stations, all the Bible bangers said we were going straight to hell....it was the devil's music. And on and on and on.....

The R&RHOF is a tourist attraction, plain & simple. Eventually nearly every artist that ever cut a record will be in there. Gotta sell tickets you know!!
The selection process will be political as most everything in life is so don't put much stock into it. Roll Eyes

Don't get me started on the state of R&R these days. I have some 'sperience in that venue.

Guess it's all subjective, I can't turn the channel fast enough when a Rush, Phil Collins or ELO song comes on! I wonder how much weight is placed on the artist's production talents and work with other artists? Alice Cooper and Prince have had a huge presence behind the scenes, likewise Todd Rungren. I know one guy in his 50's who can't stand the Beatles or Steely Dan, each to their own I guess.
