Windsor Ontario

« on: December 19, 2010, 12:42:17 PM »

I would just like to introduce myself. My names Drew from Windsor Ontario. I just bought a 2001 valkyrie, and I can't wait to get it on the road. She needs some work though.  Sad
Here she is!

just coming off the trailer

After I got some of the broken bits off, and new bars on

The past owner was hit off the bike by a wild turkey driving home from work. As far as I know a few people here may know him, although he hasn't been active on this forum in a long time. He went by the screen name border_bob.

Anyway, my plans for the bike are to restore it to stock. I am however battling with the fact that the front fairing is UBER $$$$$. So I may down grade just to get it on the road, and get the stock parts after.

Does anyone know how I can sort out getting gauges on this bike? I was thinking it may be best to put the cash into getting the stock cluster so the radio still works. Maybe go with the memphis shades batwing setup for now. Thoughts ideas, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for readin my post!

Hi Drew Good to see you on board with this great club. I have talked to Bob many times before and after his "Get Off" .Was thinking of his bike as well but my wife cut me off at 3. I am just down the 401 in London. We have a couple of salvage yards here but there is a very active one in Quebec. Also Gordon in BC is parting out an I/S right now. He has posted in the BC board at http://www.boards2go.com/boards/board.cgi?user=VRCCBC Give him an email. If I can give any help,PM me.

I have a 2000 interstate that I have picked up, Im going to try and sell it as a complete bike, but it has 83000 miles runs great, I have to do a lot of cleaning and polishing. If it doesnt sell keep an eye on the classifieds board, I will part it out.

Welcome aboard, and good luck fixing her up.  Haven't been here too long, so I don't know Bob.
