Have ya'll ever seen the space station traverse the sky?  It's really a fun sight to see.  Just a bright dot moving too fast for an airplane, but too constant for a shooting star.  It's amazing to think that there are six people onboard doing science experiments not thought possible just a few decades ago.
OK, off my soapbox.  Viewing opportunities vary by location, and can be looked up at the link below.  In Texas, there is a great pass to see on the evening of December 24.  I know one little girl who's going to be outside on the evening of the 24th, watching "Santa" go overhead.

Now back to your regularly scheduled political banter.

Thanks Rocketman!
I remember when the Shuttle came through the atmosphere on it's way to Mexifornia in the summer evening sky.  It looked like it was on fire!

Also, don't forget the lunar eclipse...

I remember once, I was at the house I grew up in in Greenville SC, the news mentioned that
the shuttle was going to land in Florida, and pass overhead... there was a loud sonic boom
when it did...
