Last week, I took my grand-children to a restaurant.

My six-year-old grand-son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the
food, and I would even thank you more if Nana gets us ice cream for
dessert.  And liberty and justice for all!  Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman
remark, "That's what's wrong with this country.  Kids today don't even know
how to pray.  Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my grand-son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it
wrong? Is God mad at me?"

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was
certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.

He winked at my grand-son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that
was a great prayer."

"Really?" my grand-son asked.

"Cross my heart," the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark
had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream.  A
little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my grand-children ice cream at  the end of the meal.  My
grand-son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember
the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in
front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you.
Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."

no point in being that way.

Nothing to do with the story above, but I had a funny experience at DQ.

Had just bought the Valkyrie, took my son out for some ice cream at Dairy Queen.  As we’re standing in line I hear “you’re a lucky man grandpa” I didn’t do anything, just stood there waiting for my order, and I hear it again “you’re a lucky man grandpa!!” this time louder.  Didn’t do anything again.  As my son and I turned around to pick a seat this guy says to my boy, “you sure are a luck grandson to have your grandfather take you on a ride with that beautiful motor cycle”.  My son Nick says to the guy “that’s my papa, not my grandpa!!”  The guy turned three shades of red!!  Each one darker then the previous!!  He starts apologizing like crazy saying he’s sorry if he offended me, so on and so on……   I just had to laugh because my wife and I had been having a discussion on whether I should buy a Gold Wing or the Valkyrie, she said the GW was an old mans cycle, and the Valkyrie is much more sexier.

The thing is, I was 42 at the time, and my son was 8.  guess I should be using some Grecians gray hair tonic.

WONDERFUL Story, Brother!

When we get together with my wife's rather large family, we always "Grace The Table" as they say.  We ALWAYS let one of the children say grace and marvel each time at what they say they are thankful for.  Sometimes it even brings tears to our eyes.

I love my kids and all of my neices and nephews.....and ALL kids in general!  I see such innocence and wish that they would never lose it.

Sometimes you want to kill them, but you always have to love them for their innocence.

Thats why theyre cute, Dubs.
My four year old grand son was tasked with prayer one Thanksgiving. He went on and on about every thing that the center of attention gave him. When My brother said clippit because dinner is getting cold, jr. said, in the cutest angelic little voice, "I'm not f$%(*&  done yet". Stunned silence, uproarious laughter.
Daughter was divorced by Christmas.
It was a very good Christmas.
