Just one more "Nanny state" law from our friends to the north.  Need the gov't to take care of them.  Not good enough to decide for themselves.

Not to chime in on a beat-up-the-C'nucks Party, but I was really annoyed by their laws about cooked meat in Alberta this summer.  You can't get a burger that hasn't been cooked into a cinder.  Thx to some stupid law they have about it.  I paid $37 for 2 hunks of coal between bun slices, without tip, in Banff.  The cooks have no choice on it, no matter how you order.  It's mandated by law.  Go north - expect to pay twice what you do here, for food that's less than half as good.  Rates on hotel rooms - equally atrocious.  I'm thinking they don't want repeat business from their neighbors.  I think it's mostly because of the high taxes to support their socialist system - which also makes the laws for your own good - don't want you getting sick from e-coli cuz the govt will be paying for your health care.  No thanks.  I'll stay here, take my chances with my rare burger, and keep my guns too.

Gee, I wish I lived in the good old days when the government only wanted to tax you to death.  Now they want to tax you to death, and they want you to live forever!!

I still have an outstanding warrant in Ontario.

Back in the late eighties I got a ticket in Windsor Ont. for not wearing a seatbelt while driving my Honda through the city. My Honda was a 750F Supersport. The cop that ticketed me said the law made no provisions for motorcycles.
I refused to be blackmailed and Ontario has reprocity with the state of MI. But when it comes time to renew my license I take a copy of that ticket, the old registration and plate to the Secretary of State and walk out with legal plates every time.
