Well the family has been arriving for the last couple of days, so today is fish for your dinner, these were 4 to 6 inches when we put them in the pond back in Feburary

Mark and brother getting ready to clean the fish, the table is 26"

All fillet up and ready to cook

more pics after Mark fries them up
Forgot to take pics during the cooking...but this is what was left over

It sure was good...today...Fish Tacos....

I'm sure they get bigger... but these are pre-pubesnet 9 month old catfish.......2.5 to 3 pound plus...... and the females were full of eggs!!!!!!!  The pond was drained and reworked summer before last and refilled with rains last winter...... so we know all the fish were from what we put in last Feb.....
from 6" to up to 3 pounds in 9 months is pretty good!!!!   and MAN!!!! were they TASTY!!!!!!!!!

Looks good for sure; those 2 1/2 - 3 lb (pan sized) catfish are the perfect size for cooking and eating! That looks like a great family day; and you are correct in saying that the kids will always remember those fabulous family activities that they experience. I'm glad you had a great lead-in to Christmas!

I have a “catfish” question.  One time I ate catfish, and it tasted like dirt!!  Literally!!  It had a “dirt” taste to it, and someone told me that if you catch catfish when it’s been “eating”, and cook it you will get the taste of what it was eating, and since catfish are bottom feeders, they’ll often suck up dirt when they eat…..  don’t know if that’s true or not, just what I heard…..
