Noon and ready to head north

Hwy 183 west of Dawsonville, GA

Hwy 136 west of Dawsonville, GA going up Black Mtn

Down a couple of gears in the Tahoe. Note the piled up snow on the right of the road. A snow plough had been through.

Getting towards the top of Black Mtn on Hwy 136

Starting to come down the other side

Florida licence plate on this abandoned SUV  Cheesy

There were a few cars and trucks that had slid off the side of the road.

YAH,  Sodbuster and I will be driving in snow until the end of March in Minnesota.

We have gotten 33.4 inches at the MSP airport in December alone.

PEEEEEE-SSSSHHHAAAAAWWWW  33.4 inches   ???

While I would never bad-mouth you folks in the MN/WI areas for snowfall... this year, so far, you are light-weights. NE Ohio, for December alone, currently has 49.1 inches (NWS Youngstown). A December record for snow. Crossing our fingers that eastern Lake Erie will freeze over so the "lake effect snow machine" will shut-down.

Could be worse though, we could live in Buffalo/Syracuse - they are up over 70 inches for December alone.  uglystupid2

For Jan and Feb... please take it back would ja?

Now that's a crock of you know what!
When summer comes around here, those wonderful months of double 90's... 90+ degrees AND 90% humidity all I hear is "it's too hot to ride". And that's even from some of the 6 or 8 natives left in Florida!
I cannot wait for summer to get back.... Sittin' at a stoplight in the heat on the nice warm asphalt, then it gets even better when the Valkyrie's fan comes on! Evil That's livin'!
Seperates the men from the boys!! Grin
You are correct about the snow in the south.  Embarrassed  We can't handle it. Shocked
Kim was 40 years old before she even saw snow, & I hope to never see it again.

Hey folks, don't believe everything Eddie says about the heat. He just ain't normal. Anything below 80 deg. and he's putting on longjohns and layering up for the "cold" ride ahead. I never knew someone could live with lizard blood but he sure does. He'll be wearing a coat when the rest of us are standing around in T-shirts.

There Eddie, now the truth is out.  2funny Hope you and Kim had a great Christmas, see ya down the road.

You are correct .... we are lightweights compared to those numbers. Hope you're all taking this in fun. Just a little ribbing from us northern folks. Actually we haven't had normal snow since the early nineties .. til now. But it can be fun with the right toys !!  Everyone lives somewhere for different reasons. I prefer the four seasons myself.

yep it could be worse .... you could be these poor fella's ....

Most definitely all in fun friend - can never be serious about snow when you are a rider. If we took this white crap seriously, we would go positively loopy waiting to get back on the bike. crazy2

I will always have respect for our friends on the northern plains... I was in North Dakota in early September and experienced light snow flurries at night... IN SEPTEMBER!  Shocked

When we were Colorado for Inzane 9, was talking to one of the locals in Granby, CO - she said they have had accumulating snow in July... now that's hardcore.

Grew up on the shores of Lake Ontario, not unusual to get 3-4 feet in one setting of Lake effect. Didn't leave there until I passed 30. I moved to Florida and put up with the summer heat, low wages, etc so I don't have to see it or deal with it anymore. If it starts snowing here I will be moving further south. Just in the Grand Caymen Islands last week highs of 78-80, lows at night of 70-74. I bet there are not many Valks there........
