Same price for gas here and saw a similar news story and I was just in shock.  Shocked  Still trying to figure out what made the price go up about .30 in the past few few weeks.

Up in Michigan it is 3.19 a gallon.  This is getting rediculous a whole lot of people can barely make ends meet and they just go and jack up gas on top of it.

OK I'll Bite It's BUSH'S Fault Right.

Sorry but we ain't seen nothing yet.

More to it I believe.

Like Inflation is going to be rapant soon.

Shorter Rides I think not.

Just eat less.

Ever heard of Chickens coming home to roost, well here you Go.

Obama and the Tree Hugging Dems, Banning off shore drilling or any other new drilling

will cause the next recession that will hit our ARSES.

Remember the last bubble burst with 5 $ a Gallon Gas price.

It's coming better hunker down.

heading that wayn here too.
watch for price increases in virtually everything-what do you buy that doesn't get delivered by truck? what do you eat that doesn't require gas (diesel) powered machinery to grow, produce, or process it?
fuel surcharges will be big items again. here in my part of Fl we pay electric fuel charges greater than the actual cost of electricity now-wonder where that will go?
time to re-think and be ready
can't blame anyone but ourselves-we elected who ever and we don't scream and yell to get policies put in place that make sense for today and ten, twenty years from now

I feel that the recession that we are still fighting to get through was caused by the last big jump in oil prices. What kills me was there is no shortage, it was just people playing the commodities market driving up the oil prices.

Analyst say because of on-hand and production numbers, gas should not be as high as it is. Barrel of oil is trading high based on SPECULATION.
Give it up on the ones forcasting doom and gloom.  Angry
Remember this time last year they were forcasting 5 dollar a gallon gas by May. Never happened.

IMHO we should be ramping up our plans for Nuke Plants to generate ALL of our electricity. To use 1 drop of oil to make electricity is stupid & short sighted. Blame who you want for the lack of vision concerning our lack of Nuke Plants but in the end we all will pay!  Angry

China's getting into the car act now. More demand internationally, playing with oil futures, devaluing the dollar by printing more (600 billion dollar loan to ourselves), greed, sock it to us, etc.

Now the Fed is pushing electric cars.  Where are we going to get the energy to produce the electrical power needed to generate the electricity for all those batteries that will need recharging?  Hydro, Coal?

We need nuclear plants. Hanoi Jane not only did a number on us in Vietnan but also in the movie that she starred in about a nuclear powerplant.   She, and others made it seem like our nuclear plants are like Chernobyl.

Heck, there's plenty of blame to spread. How about the dumbass politicians pushing ethanol with subsidies and now a proposal to increase ethanol to 15%.  That'll screwup motorcycles and some cars. Ethanol production has already cost us in higher corn prices, higher food prices. etc, and it's not as energy efficient as gasoline.

And how about all those lawyer politicians in Washington.  They don't have enough brains to pound sand down a rathole.

I guess that covers it for starters.  This is not tongue-in-cheek.

Rant is now complete. Switch off.

All the money both the Fed Reserve and the Nat' Democrats are pumping into the economy mean more dollars will be chasing the goods, ie it will take more dollars to buy the same thing.  Inflation is heating up, how high it will go is the question.

I can remember unemployment, inflation, and interest rates ALL topping 10% each.  When I tell that to young people, most do not believe me.

Gas and oil prices will go up to about $3.79 a gallon then level off at $3.39 and everyone will be 'happy' that it came down. Demand for oil is high from India, China and the US. We're printing money about as fast as we can and our US dollar is tanking in value around the world. You bet massive inflation is coming along with another 20% drop in home prices over the next 12 to 18 months.

Sad, but likely true,

i have an older yamaha cycle that gets 45 mpg.  i just might be taking that to work when prices get too out of hand.

i believe you Mel.  i remember 18% interest rates on a business loan my parents had back during the carters years.  CD's were paying good then also!!  a smart person would have put money in CD's for a thirty year term, most only did 1 to 2 years at a stretch.

no new drilling until maybe '12, thanks comrade bama. deep dangerous off shore drilling is a result of the tree huggers and the EPA not allowing safe on shore drilling, yet now the huggers are complaining about the off shore drilling after the accident.
thanks to the Federal reserve, a private company, and all of the printing of money, the middle east oil supplers have started their own currency, and will soon no longer price oil in dollars. the result 5-7 dollar/gallon gas coming by '12. people will use less, lower pollution, which will make the communist EPA and tree huggers happy until it starts affecting them. Then some of the evironmental activist groups will start new activist groups complaining about the high prices/inflation all the while getting funding and donations to support their high salaries. One of the activists might be so good that he/she will be elected president.

picked up a '07 DR200 a few months ago for the stable, EPA rated city 105 mpg.

Oil company execs need a boost in their bonuses.   2funny

Oh yeah, the stock market loves higher oil prices too, although it crushes consumers and non-oil & gas businesses.  Usually the increases are driven by speculators in oil futures and all the explanations of supply and demand is BS.

Edmonton, Alberta. Oil producing province, 3 major refineries, so no real shipping costs. Regular gas is $0.999/litre; thats $3.786/ US gal. And we make the stuff locally...
Been thinking that my next bike would also be a Valkyrie. Sticking with the Vs it now looks to be a Vespa.

$4.24/ us gal or $1.12/ liter around Ontario and Quebec. The last time gas prices got up around $1.40 / liter or so the economy crashed. I wondered at the time that no-one seemed to blame the fuel companies for the damage it was doing. After the crash the prices dropped back down to less than $ 3.79/ gal US,$1.00 / liter. I don't believe any fuel company went under because the fuel prices dropped.

Good Looking Picture there Imohtep.

Imohtep was a important man in Egyptian History.

Gas Prices: 145 dollars a Barrel and When Georgie got Congress off their Duffs to allow drilling off

 shore

prices fell off sharply to 38 dollars a barrel.

For projection of future prices see video above of Maxine Waters wanting to Nationalise

                 the oil industry.

June is the lifting of the moretorium on off shore drilling, will not be soon enough to stave off

more record at the pump prices.

Sorry just the facts mame.

Got ya all beat.   I paid $720 for 1.1 gallon of gas last week.

acccidentally put it in my diesel truck before I could shut off the pump.   I could have probably driven it but didn't want to take a chance so I got a wrecker and took it to a diesel mechanic shop and had it fixed properly.   They changed the fuel filter, drained the tank, and blew out the diesel fuel lines.

The mechanic told me if it ever happened again with just 1 gallon of gas in thetank to go ahead and fill it up with diesel and pour 1 qt of ATF in the tank and go on with business as usual.

I still feel better knowing it was done right.  Love my truck...jsut wish it was 4 wheel drive. I go to the beach a lot on Bolivar Island....get stuck all the time....just pull out my pull rope and tie on to the next 4 wheel rive that comes by....ha

fuel prices going higher, and yet we're not hearing a single sob story from the press? remember '08 people on the news every night saying how they couldn't afford gas to get back and forth to work. now people don't have a job so they don't need a car  2funny

my fuel surcharge is going up every week, currently I'm being reimbursed at .33/ mile that is added to my paycheck. higher fuel prices means higher prices of.... everything!
