HAppy new year to all!  Is it about time for a meet up ride?  Is Carlos too far for a r/t from DFW or Austin area?  Any other suggestions?  Maybe in a few weeks?

Two Wheel Texans had a pie run to Crockett before Christmas. I guess the best tip I could offer from the critiques - try some place other than The Moosehead Cafe if you land on Crockett. ~Jeff

Carlos is about an hour closer to Ausin/San Antonio than Crockett.

As a suggestion, keeping the meeting point inside the I-10, I-45, and I-35 triangle will help reduce drive times for the majority. cooldude

From Frisco, north of Dallas, my distance to anywhere south is probably close to maximum from DFW.

Carlos is 209 miles.  Crockett is 179 miles.  Centerville is 157 miles.

A destination east of I-45 would be closer to equidistant for DFW, CenTex, and HouTex.   Evil

I used a Geographic Midpoint Calculator (http://www.geomidpoint.com/) and then ran mileage charts since the midpoint was "as the crow flies" and not based on roads.  I think that Cameron ends up as the most central city with a lot of restaurants, including BBQ, TexMex and burgers.  It is about 170 miles from Plano, 160 miles from San Antonio and 160 from Houston.

How does that work for the meet up ride?

Centerville is midpoint for Houston and DFW but it's more of a trip for the San Antonio group.  If we want to include San Antonio, then we need to go further west, ie, Cameron.

Does Cameron even qualify as a ride for the Austin folks???   Evil

I'm not complaining - it would make a great excuse for an overnight and a long, looping ride home.

Good point.  Maybe we need an idea of who would be on the ride (once the date is set) and then pick the location.  Kinda' thought The Geez would be there so that was my thinking in the location suggestion.

Of course, you Iron Butt guys would probably rather head to Clovis with Bandit.....  Grin
