I didn't post any pis in my intro cause I just got the bike and it was not up to pic standards.(It was dirty) There are still some changes I want to make, so I'll wait to put it in the Gallery till those are done. Overall nothing major, just little things.

I like the rotor and caliper covers, but the chrome isn't perfect so...........?

The original owner had various eagles and such on it here and there. I took some off but this one is going to leave some holes, so I not sure what I'm going to do about it. I prefer a smooth look.

This one is a bit blurry but you can see he had chrome wire wrap on a lot of the cables and wires. Its 10 years old and turning  yellow so it's all coming off.

At one time he had these boards on for all three positions so I have 6, but none are very good as far as the chrome goes.  If anyone has two good ones that you want to sell let me know.

It has a mixture of boards on it now and there is a small bit of rubber missing from this one. He gave me all the factory pegs, so I might just put those back on for now.

There are also free spirit eagles on the reservoir covers. I will probably swap those out with smooth ones.

You may notice there are a few brackets that are showing some rust. I plan on powder coating them black. Haven't decided if I like the chrome trim on the front fender and under the tank and bottom of the bags. I think it is easily removed if I want to.

What do you think? Comments? Suggestions?

Flush your clutch and brake fluid, from the
picts it looks gold. It should be clear.
Please don,t take this the wrong way.
You said you just got it so was just trying to help.

No problem Dave. I'm always open to constructive advice. I hadn't even noticed the color. It will be one of the first things on the maintenance list.  cooldude

That's one nice looking bike. Congrats.  Smiley cooldude cooldude

Good job noticing the fluid color. cooldude

You may want to take the 7 to 10 day approach on the Eagle Fender. After 10 days you may not mind it or even like it.

Congrats on the nice Valk.  If you want an upgrade on the fender ornament, consider the Valk maidenhead ornament here:

Thanks for the link. I was not aware of those. It would definitely be an upgrade from the eagle. I think the eagle mounting holes are farther apart that that though. I was thinking maybe a chrome spear from a side pod would be nice and smooth, but I'm not sure the curvature would match the fender. I haven't checked to see if they're available. Might have do do some modifying. Maybe the eagle will grow on me.....The eyes do light up and all.  Roll Eyes Probably not.

That's an interesting way to turn your pipes. Are those just regular turndown pipes turned out? Do you ever scrape them in a hard turn? What does that angle do for the sound. I've heard several people say the main thing they don't like about turndowns is the way the sound bounces back up from the road.
I'm running the 6 into 6 myself and can't imagine being happier.

I haven't ridden it enough to rub them myself. Have only got to test ride it and he brought it to my place. Just how it worked out the best to do the notary work. I haven't put plates on it yet.

They have marks on the bottom though from the previous owner. On the boards too. He told me his wife said they didn't have a good ride if they didn't touch the boards on the ground at least once.

They are 4" truck stacks. I asked him about turning them down and he said he thought they would rub more that way. I guess I would have to draw a line from the tire up and see which way would be the better angle. Not sure if they would come off easily to try.

I like the way it sounds. He said two baffles on each side are drilled. Its loud but not excessive. Lets put it this way....The wife didn't roll her eyes when she heard it. cooldude
