Driveshaft removal and reinstalled
«

I removed the driveshaft today (first time), very easy to do . It came out with the pumpkin and looked in very good shape, 31,533 miles. First time it has been out, I was glad to see there was still grease from the factory on both ends of the shaft with NO rust or wear. On the u-joint end the grease still looked fresh and had not hardened. I cleaned both ends and reinstalled using GD 525 grease on the shaft ends and GD 570 paste on the splines. Installed new 'O' rings (3) and reassembled. The shaft slide right in the swingarm but would not slide into the u-joint. I took the 5 pin star from the rear wheel and used it as a handle to turn the splines in the pumpkin and it slid right in took only 1/3 turn, very easy. Thanks to all who helped with all your input.
