I am better than I deserve to be

Lake Jackson, TX

Permission to join the fraternity of Valkyrie owners.

I was captured this past December by a Black 2002 Valkyrie.  Escape has been futile so far.  From what I have read here, there are many who have fallen under the same spell.

How long does this mysterious attraction last?  I find myself daydreaming of ways to control her.  Not sure if it is possible.

Any suggestions??

How long does this mysterious attraction last?

Can’t speak for everyone, but for me it’s been 2034 days, or 5 years, 6 months, 25 days..... This of course is about 175,737,632 seconds......but who is counting because it just keeps getting better!

Welcome aboard!

As for controlling her..... just hold on and enjoy the ride!

I find myself daydreaming of ways to control her.  Not sure if it is possible.

As with all women, it is impossible to control her.
As with all women, you'll end up spending much more $$$ on her than you ever imagined.
As with all GOOD women, you'll enjoy your times together so much that the $$$ won't matter (or matter as much).
As with all GOOD women, the attraction will not fade, only grow stronger with time.
As with all GOOD women, take care of her and she will take care of you.

...and finally...

As with all women, get a hot one with low miles, hang on, and enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the club, Willie!

Welcome, this virus is a hard one to shake. I felt it coming on in March 2010 and haven't been able to shake it............ nor do I want to. This is one kinda sick I like. Oh, and as far as the lady goes, she knows just what to wear when you go out, gives unconditional love & doesn't talk back. Gotta luv that!  Congrats & welcome!

Wow, it didn't take long to cover philosophical, mathematical, and romantic(al)!  IMO, they all apply.   cooldude

I'll just say, "Hi, my name is Dave, I'm a Valkaholic, and it's a really bad, chronic case."

Welcome, Willie!  Where are you located?

And Garfield, is that Memphis, TX, up in the panhandle, or Memphis, TN?

I bought my 98 Valkyrie Tourer back in 2002 and she has been more than I could ever ask for. To this day I still catch myself opening the door to the garage to check in on her. I have been so please with her that I bought a stablemate for her. This past summer I bought a 99 Valkyrie Interstate to keep her company. Life is good.       cooldude

I am an hour south of Houston in Lake Jackson.

She only had 6700 miles on her when she started using her mind tricks on me.... and she is H O T.

Ok, I will not always talk in story form, but dang it is fun.

Now as a newbie, you know there will be tons of questions...  Disco, stop rolling your eyes and sighing

But for now, wait, I think I hear her calling my name........  no it was Karen Carpenter on CD.

Went ahead and put on 2 new tires, since the originals were still on, and had all the fluids changed.  I would like her to be louder than the stock pipes that are on now.  Also, want to put a light bar on front.

Would like to hear about the rear tail light modulators as well - hard wire or bulb...

Well that is all for now..

my first Valk was a fast black 97 standard. It was taken out by a 16 year old girl on a cell phone. My replacement for her was a 99 black and silver tour. My bubby found her for me in Texas. He arranged the loan through our bank, and even went to pick her up for me. I unloaded her off the trailer with a broke leg. Parked it in the garage and while I was healing I dressed her in the nicest bling I had and could find. So I guess it is safe to say I am hooked  cooldude

I bought mine from my brother almost 4 years ago.  She was calling my name from his garage around Christmas time when we were over for lunch.  I brought her home and made her mine and the rest, as they say, is history.
Welcome to the asylum, you're gonna like it here.

I live in Pearland and look forward to meeting you.

Welcome, Willie.  I heard the siren song 11 years ago and picked my lady up while she was still untouched by another rider.  She is one of the rare one-owner Valkyries you have heard stories about.

Don't fight it.  It's the one sickness where the worse you got it, the better you feel.

I HAVE to show this post to my S.O.

She thinks I'm crazy.  (NO, actually she KNOWS I'm crazy).  But, when I got my "Black Beauty" (March of '04), I looked in on her all of the time (in the garage), and Lori couldn't believe it.  She said she'd bet anything that I was the only person in the world who looked in on their bike as if it were a new friend that I couldn't stand being away from.

  Clearly, she's wrong!!

Welcome to the crew, Willie and Mario.  Willie, on your question about taillights, I'm sure there are other ideas, but my favorite is the Hyperlites.  You can put them nearly anywhere and they get people's attention when you're stopping.  I first came across them a number of years back when I was following a buddy who had them on the back of his bike. We both rode faster bikes then and it was great to immediately recognize he was on the brakes.  Been a believe since then and have had them on several bikes.

On the Valk, I use the brighter tail light bulb and added a sidecar so I could add more taillights.

Welcome Willie,
I am new to the group also and have been on my girl every day since we got together back before Christmas. She went DS at the last wrench party and got a lot of attention there that day. She is still thanking everyone for the TLC that was lavishly handed out.
Check your calender, and try searching the threads for things your interested in as lots have been written and is captured in this forum.
Good to have you in the group and hope to meet you soon.

HA Ha,
Of course you cannot 'search' threads in your Calender. I was trying to say that there are many rides planned and that it would be nice, Willie, if you could Check Your Calender and make some of them as time permits.
