I want to try a 65 series, currently running a 60 series. To those of you running the "Altimax" do you like it? Would you buy it again? I LOVE that tread pattern.

I have two Valks on the Altimax. Like them a lot. Better than the Hydroedge.

I do not like my altimax as much as my Falken. It's a lot more demanding of EXACT tire pressure to not feel queer.
I will not be buying another one.

Tundra; it no longer comes in a 65 so I run the 60. Wizard, I found the Altimax in a 65 series, however the tread pattern is differant than the 60 series. I don't know if I like the looks of it??? General Altimax 60 series, real nice deep grooves along the sides. This is the Altimax 65 series ??? Not so sure about it? Some other contenders in the 60 series. I don't care for the Tripple Tread, other than it won't wear out. It's a very flat, squared off tire. Goodyear Tripple tread Bridgestone Potenza 60 series Never saw this before, looks pretty good Yokohama Envigor...It appears to be more rounded than the others? I would like to go up to a 65 series, most of them start turning into "Grandma's Buick tires" as SmokinJoe has stated.

Doug, stay away from the Michelin HydroEdge. Maybe it's a great car tire but squeezed on a Valk rim it's as square as a brick. Hafta run 28 psi just to get acceptable low speed handleing. God please give us a 195/70/16 tire with a rounded edge! Haven't found one yet!

I run the Altimax 60-series. This is my first car tire and it's fine...although I don't have experience with others. I did find that it needs higher pressures than what some are running in CT's. I started off at 35psi, then went to 32 based on what alot of others were saying. I found at these lower pressures, I would get a wiggle/sway/fishtail in longer high-speed sweepers like on the interstates. Raising the pressure up to 42 or so eliminated that issue, but also increased the squareness feel a little. I'll need a new tire to start the riding season and I'm really torn between a new Altimax or going back to a MC tire. The CT netted about 12,000 miles and could go a couple thousand more, but I got a flat at the end of the riding season last year. I plugged it, but it still has a slow leak that I need to add air every other day. At half the cost of a MC tire, it's definitely a better bargain. So I'll probably buy another one here in the next month or so.

225/60-16. It doesn't have near the miles that I do on the Bridgestone HP550 on the Valk, it's a 205/60-16, it has around 11000 and still going strong. I like Eddies idea from lunch the other day. He said he knew someone that could shave the edges. If I knew someone around here, I would give that a shot to make it more rounded.
