Gotta do something with my suspension, currnently progressive rear shocks and stock front end. Can't take the ungodly jolts at highway speeds. Normal pavement seams, & etc are tolerable but the occasional unexpected 'jolts' seem like they will cause a herniated vertebrae for my 60 yr old back. Just looking for something to smooth out my ride a little. Any advise will certainly be appreciated. Thanks for your time!

I have progressives on the front and Works shocks on the rear. They have been a great combination.

I use a rubber strap wrench to adjust my 440's. You can buy them in a pack of two, different sizes at Sears

Had a 2000 IS and tried 412's, 416's, and finally Works.  Works were absolutely the best with the ARS (I think) system which allows you several quick settings based on carrying weight. Very good stuff!!!

I now have a 97 std and have progressive 440's non HD and they are great too.  I weight about 190 and my wife less than that (  angel) and The shocks seem plenty supple for that with no adjustment from one up riding.  They are set to about the 3rd mark on the shock.

BTW +1 on the rubber strap wrench always carry 1 in my saddlebag
Hope it helps
