I was in Harbor Freight on Sunday and found a motorcycle lift that raises a bike up to 36". With a 20 percent discount the price is about $160.00.
Does anyone have this lift. It seemed much heavier than a standard bike lift, which I already have. The advantage is lifting the bike 36". It seems like a pour mans mechanic's lift that you ride up on and use hydraulics to lift the bike.
I will have a bolt on lift adapter installed shortly and thought this may be a great option.
What say ye?

If it is the one that raises like a forklift I have one. If you was close enough I would make you a good deal on it. Only used it a couple times. I just don't trust it. It might do great, but when I lifted my Tourer I didn't like the way it would sag over. David

It did look like a fork lift. It really looked strong so I'm surprised it sagged. That's scary!

I'm thinking about carrying it and have a strong back welded on it for piece of mind. Got a buddy that has a welding shop. David

what i don't like about this type ~ when bike is on it you can't roll it around into another spot in the shop ~ NO i wouldn't try tipping it back on those casters to move it. I guess it may be low enough to add some casters to all 4 corners ~ that might work. there is another brand simular that has a screw jack instead of bottle jack, it can be raised with a drill

That's the one I have. Mine gives where the fork is welded to the vertical tubing. David

I have 2 harbor frieght table lifts. 1 I use in the garage, the other is sitting in storage till i can make more room. its air over hydraulic and is 36 inches wide, raises just over 36 inches and locks. plus has a removable plate for rear tire access. delivered to my door for under 500$ each. not too bad i thoguth and it works great. even came with a screw type wheel chock to keep it still and upright. very stable.

This is the style of lift I did find at Harbor Freight.
The screw type seems a little more stable considering it lifts on a solid piece of steel not arms. The comment on the weak mounting spot where the horizontal arms meet the vertical really sounds dangerous.
And, you are right the lift height is 30" not 36"
I will research the price on the screw type and post it later.

The Blue lift is shipped from Atlanta and costs $599.00 with $40.00 shipping.
I think a platform lift may be a better option at around $350.00 or $400.00

Just curious, I've been looking at the platform lift as well. Question - does that front wheel chock or vice move out of the way once the lift is up if or as needed to get to that front tire for tire removal or front wheel access in general? HG, what kind of freight cost did you get hit for since they had to use a lift gate? Looks tempting!

Don't know. But since hotglue just got one, maybe he can answer. However, if you want unimpeded front wheel access, ya can't get much better than this...... http://www.derekweaver.com/update/MC615R_Air_Lift_Motorcycle_Lifts_Product.aspx?id=127
Or even better..... http://www.derekweaver.com/update/MC625R_Air_Lift__Motorcycle_Lifts_Product.aspx?id=20
They're spendy, but if you want the best, I haven't found anything that tops those K&L lifts.
