I'm looking for some rubber edge molding. I need to replace the gasket on a GL1100 trunk and can't find anything that will work. I have the OEM piece but it's somewhat misshapen from age, kinda like me. I'd like to find something to just slip down over the top lip of the trunk bottom so the lid can come down over it for a weather seal. The lid has about a 1/8" wide shoulder that comes down over the bottom. The edging needs to have about a 3/16" opening for the thickness of the trunk edge. And should be at least 1/2" deep so it will come down far enough on both sides of the lip. I've looked on the net and the only place that has something close wants to sell a 250' roll for a handsome price. I only need about 6'. Any suggestions where to go looking for it?

For an idea of how it should look, imagine and upside down "U."

I needed some to put around the edge of a tailight. I bought some fuel line and ran the knife down it, worked perfectly, maybe you could try that.......it's cheap as well.

"I need to replace the gasket on a GL1100 trunk"

The p/n you listed is for the Valk Interstate trunk. The trunk I have is from an '82 GL1100. The p/n 81420-463-770 is the one I need but two different dealers have indicated it's no longer available.

speedsupplies.com shows it in stock on their website.  Might call them to check for sure 405-607-7777, they are in Oklahoma.

My bad.  Did not read close enough.  Good luck. I would think generic would work?  Also, if the Valk IS is as long or longer, just cut off the excess.

Thanks for the link. I also have a GL1100, but I need all three gaskets (both saddle bags and trunk). Checked the site, seems they only have 2 of the 3 in stock. Better than all the others who had nothing.

I was recommended to check out an autobody shop, but haven't gotten the bike on the road yet to take down and check it out.

You might take a look at this site, http://www.atrim.com/. Look under "W" for weatherstripping. They have a wide variety of sizes.
