99 was the only year they built the orange/black and, if I am not mistaken, they did not make very many of them (250?). Very proud to say I have one of them. Her name is Pumpkin and she is NOT for sale, hehe. Larry

The 01 IS reverse red/black is the least produced US model. 160 of them listed. Copper/black only has 80, but was an export only bike. 340 of the blue w/ white stripe combo. The black/orange has 240 made. At least as listed in the production numbers. However, there is a red stripe color scheme that a few have, that is not listed in the production numbers. Has been discussed before, so not sure how many of them made. That may well be the least in color combo, but no way to tell. Go to: http://www.valkyrienorway.com/Production%20By%20Color.htmlMP

I'm with you Mario.......you don't see many of the blue/white scheme. I own one as well. If you ever want to sell it, list it in Kentucky. I took a solo trip through the guts of Kentucky passing through a lot of small towns. I had a bunch of thumbs up and comments at stoplights from no fewer than 10 people. I didn't put it together until I got home.........University of Kentucky.....Duh!

That would be my guess, but without any production numbers, no way to tell. We have id'd either 40-60 being made, going by the standard that they were made in groups of 20 at a time, with the same color. But, are there other groups? Who knows? Only Honda, and they do not tell! MP

It wouldn't surprise me, he's a year round commuter. That's about what was on the ground when I rode home from the retired biker coffee klatch this morning, here in Toepicker. There is six inches on now. Bout time for Willow to head home, hope that pic wasn't today, he commutes about fifty miles. Hoser

My question that I have been meaning to ask is about the racing stripe pattern, was that only in certain years or only certain colors. I have seen a few and at first thought it was just a custom paint job.

My question that I have been meaning to ask is about the racing stripe pattern, was that only in certain years or only certain colors. I have seen a few and at first thought it was just a custom paint job. The stripe pattern was offered on Standards in 2001 and 2002. There are three color combinations I've seen; Blue and White, Black and Silver, and Black and Red. The Blue and White is the most common and the only one that is shown in RP's chart on Dag's site.

A while back someone posted a chart that showed colors and quantitys produced year by year. Not that I'm partial ar anything but I think the Yellow & Cream is pretty rare. I thought it said only 20 or so each year they were produced?
