Came through surgery with out any major problems, had a complete hysterectomy, also removed appendix and lymph nodes, pretty major, 15 inch incision. She is in her 6th day in the hospital, finally got all the tubes  and iv's removed last night. Doc says she can come home tomorrow, I will be pleased with that, been sleeping on a cot in her room for 6 days and I am ready to go home also. She is walking for short trips around the floor where her room is, and eating solid food again. First 5 days was fed through her veins. I will have a full time job caring for her, but that is what marriage is all about.   Still hoping to make Inzane this year, but that depends on her long time recovery. She still will be getting chemo for the next couple months. Thanks for all the prayers and support, believe me it has helped.

Stay strong, Grumpy.  She really needs you now.

This month my wife and I been  married 44 years.  Grateful that I am still doing pretty well, although I can see she is deteriorating slowly.  It hurts but we must remain aware.  Days are coming when it gets harder and harder, but like you, we signed up for the long haul.

Prayers for you and the wife.

Prayers for you both Grumpy.  Being married for over 40 years myself I have watched my wife have health issues that require me to be close by to help when she cannot help herself.  Thankfully, she doesn't have cancer to contend with at this time, so we are blessed there.  You are correct, our job is to be there with whatever help and support we can give.  It is hard for friends to understand I don't do a lot of things or activities because they would take me away from being there when and if she needs me.  Hang in there!
