Looking for opinions, advice, options and or ideas concerning a new seat for my '98 Standard.   I currently (10 years) have a Corbin studded seat with pillion pad  on the like.  I love(d) the seat for many years but I have 2 bum hips (both will be replaced in the coming years), and the width of the seat is the problem.   I am not in any discomfort when I am cruising along (feet on the forward pegs), but it really irritates my hips when I am in stop and go situations.    I took my brothers Harley for a long cruise in the fall and had no pain at all.   I am convinced that the width of the seat (specifically where it supports the hip area) is the problem.   I have web searched different seats for the Valk, and can only come up with Saddlemans One Piece (Profiler).   My problem with the Saddleman Profiler is it's material, it's not leather.   I have always enjoyed the studs on the Corbin and along with the matching studded saddlebags.
I guess I am wondering if anyone has similar discomfort and if anyone has any experience with the Saddlemans.  Thanks in advance.

the above mentioned seats are good seats, but I think you may need a Mustang seat.  It sounds like sitting in a recessed area is what is hurting you when you put your feet up and down.  I think the Mustang will have a flatter profile which may help you.  I use a Mustang because it supports my tailbone better than the others I have tried (I have not tried the Russell) and I found the Mustang Seat for me to be the one I can ride all day with.

I have heard all the good things about the Russell and I bet they are as advertised.  The cost is high.  The Mustang seat is reasonably priced and I think a good direction to start looking for your situation.  I think they have a thirty day return policy, dont quote me on that.  I am sure you would know if it works for you much sooner than 30 days.

Good Luck!
