Hey guys, I need some information help,
I have an opportunity to buy some naked 2003 chrome wheels.
My tourer is a '97, I know the front bearings on a '97 are smaller than later years.
My question is:
Will my '97 front/rear break rotors, axles, drive flange/spline, rear bearings fit these 2003 wheels?

TIA

If I'm wrong, please somebody correct me, but I believe the answer is yes to all.  The only difference is the outer diameter and thickness/width of the front bearings.

'97 6004 front bearings are 42mm outer diameter x 12mm wide x 20mm axle hole.  '98 & up 6204 front bearings are 47 x 14 x 20.

BTW, I believe the 2003 wheels are factory polished and clearcoated, not chromed - unless they were done by a previous owner.

If they have been chromed, you might have problems. Some chromers didn't know how to handle clearances in the bearing sockets. SOOO: Are they chromed or facory polished and clearcoated.

ok, researched all I could think of and looks like everything will fit except the front bearings.

the "new" wheels i'm looking at are chrome, not polished and clearcoated, but i will look closely again to be sure the bearing socket isn't chromed, thanks for that important tip sandy.

Disco, thanks for your information.

what brand of aftermarket bearings are the best? what about the All Balls?

Get the bearing number off the generic parts page and get them from a bearing house. Auto stores may or may not be a good place for these. An industrial supply is the best place.
