I forgot to give you the dangerous side of driving truck. I was just in and followed a major snow storm across the west/midwest. the carnage was 12 big rigs in the ditch 4 were roll overs and at least one had injuries. i've got a youtube vid of a roll over in cali up on donner pass that both men lost thier lives, the back story is the trainee was driving and the trainer is in the bunk.  its pretty horrible didn't want to post it.

as long as you know it can be very dangerous, it helps to minimize the threats. transportation is one of the 10 most deadly jobs depending on the poll you look at

Of course motorcycling is really safe and all as well.

LOL

Know plenty of old truck drivers.

But not many old bold truck drivers.

Here you go and old Truck Driver Singing.

you can go down a mountain slow a hundred times, but you might only go down it once fast! Shocked

two times ago in Oregon I saw where a truck went through the gaurd rail up on cabbage pass, way up on the hill right where you get the panoramic view of pendelton. the truck went down the side 3 hundred yards and both drivers survived. well they had to be extracted before they limped away.

actually I think riding a bike helps prepare you to drive truck, you have similar goals like;

not running over the 4 wheelers/cagers in a truck/ and not being run over by them on the bike

the challenge for both vehicles is not going straight down a road ( steering wheel holder ) its in close quarters manuevering and also backing up in a truck.
