Ed Mauser, the oldest living member of Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division has passed at the age of 94.  Thank You Sir for what you and your brethren did for us.

Truly a loss shared by all. I am awed by the bravery under fire with which he and his band displayed. I will be standing a flag line for a WW2 Navy Vet with my fellow PGR brothers and sisters, but I will also be standing for Ed Mauser.
God bless the USA,

America lost another true hero.

On a slightly different topic, if you ever get the chance to go to a local airport to welcome home an honor flight, do it!!  It's well worth the  what ever wait you might have to watch those  85-90 year old heroes walk or get wheeled down the ramp after spending the day in Washington DC looking at the WWII Memorial.

There's nothing that can prepare you for looking one of these heroes straight in the eye and saying,  "Thank you for your service....welcome home"....

It's a life-changing experience.

I think Band of Brothers should be MANDATORY viewing for high school and college history classes.

Rest in peace Mr. Mauser... Dick Winters, and all the others.

I would add The Pacific to that.  It is based on several memoirs of Marines that served.  One memoir is "With The Old Breed" by E.B. Sledge.
