Three greats, together for Willies 70'th birthday. Leon wrote this song in 1970, I would have been 13 at the time and bought the album shortly after it came out I'm sure.

This was recorded at New York's Beacon Theatre on April 9, 2003, during Willie Nelson's 70th birthday tribute, and just 14 months before Ray's death. Rays performance brings a tear to Willie's eye and to mine.

All three are amazing talents. Who would have thought that Ray Charles Robinson born on September 23, 1930, who went blind as a child, would eventually become known and loved by most of the world.

Looks like Willie made some very good friends in life.
