I assume you took the screw out to get it off.  If not, you screwed  up the neck for the cap.

Take, the cap off, get a pair of pliers, and gently bend the little tabs into the cap.  Make it harder to put on and a better seal.

When you pinch it down, go oh so very easy.   If ya go too far, take a screwdriver and pull it back up.

ONE LESSON on the Valk.  IF IT AIN"T BROKE, don't f*** with it.

carfully bend the tabs inward a small amount, also check and see if the rubber gasket in the cap is shot.  Make sure you remove the set screw in the rim of the cap before removal.  Don't worry about replacing the set screw, it is a PITA, and it does not need it.   New caps are cheep if that don't do it.  You may find one that fits at an auto part store. Make sure you have it twisted on all the way. It's kind of stiff so it may fool you into thinking you have it all the way seated when you don't.
