You would have to click the symbol under the person's name on the left to send them a Private Message.

If you wish to reply in the thread, and respond to a specific part of someones post the the quote function is what you are after.  There is no guarantee they will see that post you made, but your post will be a part of that thread forever.  I've seen people post messages and never come back to see the responses on occasion, but thats probably not the norm.  And just because someone doesn't respond back to you doesn't mean they didn't read your response....

Now, if you want to send a message to someone, then you can try sending them a Personal Message.  But personal messages are just that, personal.  Responding to threads via personal message defeats the purpose of a public message board.  Public responses are how we keep the discussion going!

no i know how forusm work i am a moderator on the Delphi Valk forum but if normally you can "reply" to a person in that thread and that person would know there is a responce from someone .other then that you have to look through every thread and read every post and just guess if they are responding to you or talking to someone else. not a complaint just was curious how it was working.

Not sure if you saw the bookmark feature or not but it may help  to alleviate the problem that you have expressed.  Also I think if you go to your profile you can set it up to get notification if you want.
