Congrats G-Man. I was organizing the basement storage and I have one section that is "valkyrie related", I have two front tires and one Falken 512 205-60-16 on the shelf. I have a ways to go on the car tire (same one is on the interstate), but I told my wife that I need to buy a tire for the tourer. She said, "Why? You have three tires down here can't you use one of those?". My reply, "Honey the car tire goes on the Interstate and the two shrink wrapped tires are front tires. I don't want to put a car tire on the tourer in case someone wants to ride it I don't want them to be uncomfortable."
Holly shnike's I haven't bought a motorcycle rear tire in three years. I found a Metzler ME880 for 175.28 at americanmototire.com and then emailed hondadirect and they matched minus 5 bucks so now I am getting a rear tire for 173.28. Hmm I could buy three car tires for that!! and I feel more comfortable on a CT than a MT. Much better braking and accelerating with out spinning the tire.
Oh well... such is life I'll bite the bullet! I haven't bought anything for my bikes this winter but that's about to change.
Ordering:
Race Tech Gold valve front suspension set up
Progressive 440's
Spark plug valence
chrome cam covers
engine hangers
petcock rebuild kit
clutch lever rebuild kit
steel braided lines
L.E.D marker lights for saddlebags
Ordered an extra axle, nut, and spacer from Pinwall (going to do the rear wheel bearing mod of x-rings write up)
All that for the Interstate...
And only thing I need to do for tourer is:
Replace front and rear tires
replace steering bearings
(not sure of any more chrome I could add to that, except maybe a tail light cover)
Maybe some led's...
Anyhow..
G-man I don't think you will go back to a motorcycle tire. It kills me to buy this MT for the tourer but I just think it's the right thing to do if others are going to ride it. Let us know what you think after you ride it for a few hundred miles.
