To those who own one I was curious on how the gelcoat finish is holding up to repeated cleaning and bug removal. Does it scratch easily ?? I have a '99 Black/Silver and would prolly just leave the fairing as is without painting.

Also, I currently have the old style NON-Quick Detach hardware .... will that mount up to the fairing directly ??

I got my MS fairing in august last year, so, ran it for three months,
put bike away for winter.
Cleaned it at least ten times during that short period,
not a mark on the fairing, or the windshield (9") .
So far, it appears to be a good product.

I've got the 'quick' release mounts, and I don't like 'em.
Would rather have gotten the old style, but they were not
offered. Don't know whether the old style would mount to the
fairing or not. I have the quick release fork mounts tightened
as tight as I dare, they still slip on the forks some.

I found I had to take out the plastic piece inside the fairing.
There just wasn't enough adjustment range with the quick
mounts. Gotta say the bike looks good with the fairing.
I have a black and jade, a few folks have said I oughtta
paint the black fairing, looks too plain.

i have a batwing on my sabre.  i really like it. it cuts through the wind like butta.  Wink i have the 12" shield.  mines a yellow tint. you can choose from several tints and be sure you get the right heighth. i like the quick release mount fine.  no problem with slipping on sabre.  as far as scratches, i just wipe it down with a cotton t shirt and water and it does the trick.

I did not know that .... that's actually good news cause you should be able to clean it up good with some Novus plastic polish
