I need instructions for removing the headlight assembly, Not just the bulbs but the entire assembly.  I hace a 1500C repair manual but have not yet gotten one for my interstate.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the download, however it only covered the standard/tourer headlight removal.  It did cover the combination meter removal.  Has anyone replaced the heqadlight assembly?  Do I need to remove the combination meter first?

Thanks - Some mean person smashed my headlight lens' on my 99 Interstate and the cost for the replacement assembly isn't cheap.  $400+

Easyest way would be to remove fairing from bike.
Start by removeing speaker panels then unplug all
connecters, then four bolts holding on fairing.

You'll have to remove a lot to reveal the backside of the headlight bucket.

Remove the two panels that hold the speakers.
Remove the chrome bezel and windshield.
There are a few rubber mounted bolt that remain to be removed finally.

The fairing will then be able to rotate forward on the turn signal assemblies to reveal the innards.

A lot of caution is advised. Unclip the wires at the proper points.

The screws that hold the fairing parts together are a special problem and you should do some research on this specific item.
