I just wanted to let everyone know that I just put a Coca Cola Pot Roast (BEEF) in the crockpot for Willow's supper this evening. We will be smelling it cooking all day since we are kinda snowed in. Willow should be a happy camper this evening when he is "served" his evening meal! Never heard of a Coca Cola Pot Roast. ???

Is that real "Beef" pot roast? With the weather and all it might be a long couple of days for some of my favoriite people otherwise. By the way I think I can smell it here in North Newton with the north wind blowing. Ah, Beef it smells so good! JDW

how about sharing the recipe , as with garfield, never heard of Coca Cola Potroast...... It is a very simple recipe and I would be happy share. And just as an FYI, it is one of the recipes that will be in the cookbook I am hoping to have ready before Inzane, titled "Motomama's Munchies". 3 pound chuck roast 4 potatoes (rinsed and cut into chunks) 1 onion (cut in to chunks) 5 carrots, peeled and cut in to chunks 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 pkg onion soup mix 1 can diet coke Place all of the vegetables in your crockpot, placing the chuck roast on top of them. Using a whisk, combine mushroom soup, onion soup mix and coke in a bowl and whisk together. Pour this mixture over the top of the roast, cover and cook on low approx 8 hours. Serves 4-6 I have used Dr. Pepper, Rootbeer and Coke in place of the diet coke, when I had none on hand. You cannot taste the soda at all. The carbonation in the pop is what tenderizes your roast and I guarantee you, this roast will fall apart and just melt in your mouth! I always use the drippings in the crockpot to make gravy, as it is a very tasty gravy!

Never heard of a Coca Cola Pot Roast. ??? What a shame for you.
It's a meal that truly makes worthwhile a cow's sacrificing her life.

Wait till she tells him the Pot Roast is for her and he can eat PB&J since he keeps complaining about her cooking!

If'n you like crock pot beef, try a brisket.
Throw a brisket in the crock pot. Spread grape jelly on it. Pour a package of onion soup mix over it.
Put the lid on and wait for 8 (I like high, the wife puts it on low, not much difference) and eat.

we have persimmon trees. here. most go to waste but, the wife is finding useful things to do with them. she does all teh normal stuff for a roast but, puts in mushed up persimmons (the oriental ones. we have both) and after a while brushes the juices on like a glaze. pretty good even tho i hate persimmons...

Great job MM, if that doesn't please the ole boy, there is always the "rolling pin" attitude adjustment! He will gladly eat anything you cook after that.... Well, that is, once his teeth tighten back up a little! Enjoy that delicious sounding meal Willow! Or else!

Motomama If you would fix Carl some of that Minnesota wild rice, he wouldn't get so bound up all the time.
