Miller 252 with the accessories shown.  Dual bottle holder and spool gun holder.  Along with a Spoolamatic 30A gun to weld aluminum with.

Had a short test drive with both of em tonight.  One word... SCHWEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!1

I learned to wire feed weld about 35+ years ago on a Millermatic 35, loved the machine but sure hated that aluminum spool gun. aka booger welder. owner of the company had me do all his chromed parts welding.

This is my second miller wire machine.  The other one wouldnt run a spool gun.  I own aluminum tankers and a flatbed that I needed to weld some aluminum on right now.  Instead of paying someone to do the aluminum welding for me as I have in the past.  I just decided to put that $500 toward the machine and do it myself.  Been wanting that for a long time anyway.  So, this little job was a good excuse to finally break down and get one Wink

just remember to keep that gun at a 10 degree angle-high heat-high wrie speed for the aluminum. you can make some perty welds if you can move fast enuff to keep from warping material...I do it all the time. Smiley

Yea I found out right away that ya gotta move the gun fairly fast.   That hissing "spray arc transfer" is a new one on me too.  It did pretty work though.  The chart settings on the machine seem to be spot on.  I did some work on some 1/4 inch steel and on some 3/8 aluminum.  What Argon pressure do ya run?  I set it on about 25CFM.  That about right?

Learned how to wire weld on a millermatic many many years ago.  Good equipment!!!   Been using a large hobart for several years now..  diodes failed in it, and we bought another one.   Will fix the old one when I get time.

I still use the stick most of the time.  I am usually outside ....
