Replacing my front brake pads, any suggestions on aftermarket pads that seems to be better than OEM's?

use the TOJO HONDA brake pads.... they are a little more expensive, but your rotors will like them better, and the rotors will last longer with the TOJO HONDA brand.

Saw somewhere that if use EBC pads you need to use EBC rotors.( May be a gimick.) Also that the EBC pads were fast and SQuEEEEEK with the oem rotors.

search my handle for past posts. I like vesrah or ferodo, both can be ordered with a thicker pad for longer life. vesrah makes most OEM pads. OEM valk pads are HH friction which is the highest same as mentioned companies.

Many people here endorse just going with OEM. As mentioned, mixing and matching pads and rotors can produce an undesirable end result.

ebc pads destroyed a set of rotors on my gold wing .Go with stock honda pads.A honda dealer put ebs pads on my valk an I had him take them off because I asked for honda pads an he didn't have any.I would rather ride with the old ones until I could get new honda pads. The gold wing rotors cost about $300 each so I bought the cast iron plate an made four new rotors for $45

As others have stated, stay away form the ECBs. They are noisey and I suspect the noise is not the result of anything good.

heinno...i think after reading the above posts from all these valk owners, you will see......EBC pads are not the way to go. go with oem TOJO HONDA original pads. the EBC are cheaper, and that is what some look at (price). when you wear those rotors out, then the cheaper pads cost you way more than what you thought you were saving.

There have been many many posts on this subject. (almost getting to be like a "best oil" post) The replies so far are not representative of all the info available on the topic here on this board from some with a good deal more knowledge of the topic than you or I. Do a search here and you'll get a lot more info on which to base your decision. I personally use Honda pads but based on info I've seen in previous posts, I would not rule out other manufacturers.

That is true! The opinions are many on the merits of different combinations of rotors and pads!
Basically, organic pads are easier on any rotor when compared to other types of pads such as metallic and/or sintered pads.
Organic pads are not as "quick" as the higher rated pads but it's doubtful the difference is very noticeable under normal riding circumstances.
Stopping power is also less that the higher rated pads but the added pressure needed is negligible and easily overcome becoming "normal" after a turn or two on the bike.
Finally in the "expense" category you can find organic pad about 1/3 the cost of the other more "exotic" varieties.

I am very satisfied with my non-OEM replacement pads. I paid $45 (shipping included) for 2 complete sets of front pads (8 pads total). I notice no difference in braking since installing the replacement pads. what brand/make for everybodies info?

I have no idea of the brand. I bought them on ebay from usa-motorcycles-inc.
The price has now dropped to $30.00 (free shipping) for two complete sets.
Search ebay for "8FR BRAKE PADS CBR1000F ST1100 GL1500 VALKYRIE TOURER" and you will find them.
I am not affiliated with usa-motorcycles-inc., ebay, etc. . . . .
