Here in Colorado we didn't get much snow out of the big storm, but here's the temp on my deck Tuesday morning...

Half of Lafayette, Louisiana is shut down right now... at a whopping 30 deg. F.  There was also a little bit of sleet and freezing rain.

Now, all you northerners can laugh at us...   crazy2

Gotta love that global warming!!!   Cheesy

What made the record cold stranger was that I'd been out riding only 2 days earlier.  In fact, we were in the mid 60s last Friday and had good riding weather throughout the weekend.  I can only remember one other time in my life where I actually saw a thermometer read that low.

Nobody spends much time outside at those temps without serious clothing, otherwise you'll have frostbite in minutes.  It's really hard on vehicles parked outside.  An engine barely cranks unless you have an AC block heater like they commonly install in the northern states.  Even if you do get it started it has to warm up for 20-30 minutes.  Then when you do drive it nothing works like you might expect.  My F150's seats felt as firm as a concrete bench, and the oil in the shocks must have been like gel because the ride was ultra stiff.
