Switchblade 2UP windshield
«

I have a 2000 std valk with National's 2up Switchblade windshield. At 6'2" I look through the windshield (not a problem), but there's fair amount of helmet buffeting at interstate speeds. Has anyone been successful in changing the 'shield angle or some other mod to minimize the buffeting?
thanx,
bill

I had a similar problem using a Memphis Shades shield.
I cut it down so the top was at the bridge of my nose-helped a bit.
Added fork mounted deflectors (made 'em myself) and no more buffeting. There are a few brands available. I like the Memphis Shades for form and patterned the ones I made after them. Worth a shot. New 60-80ish, sometimes used ones come available.
Seems the source of the air causing the headbuffet is air from the front coming up and over/around the tank sides.
Had Baker Airwings on my latest bike. Sold them as I don't care for how they look. They did not reduce the buffeting as much as the fork deflectors. (in my case anyway)

Bill, I am 6'1" and I too have the Switchblade. I have never had a problem with wind buffeting. You might try the deflectors as mentioned in previous reply. Good luck with your problem.
