Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

Well failure is a strong word here when in fact it did make it home. We was on our way this morning out diggin' the backroads around Watts Bar Lake . My ridin' buddy Greg had what we think is a bearing going out. We turned and headed back with him to make sure he got her home. Was'nt a bad ride pretty cool this morning with temp's in the high 20's when we rolled out I still got around 100 backroad miles in . Took this " The Money Shot " up on Rockwood mountain right before we turned and came back because of the loud " clicking " in Greg's bike  Angry   This was some beautiful ice it was almost like crystal.

I hate that for you all Joe........I was waitin' for the ride report. Glad you got it back home ok.  We got stuck 'bout 900 miles up the road a few years ago.  Had to get a Penske truck to get home on time.

Nice picture. Sure hope the clicking in his bike is not serious. If you were riding today in Rochester N.Y. the clicking would be a lot easier to diagnose. It would be our teeth...lol Seriously enjoyed the money shot. She is a looker.

hey joe bet it is the left rear wheel bearing.  That sounds like what I heard last year on fall ride about 130 miles from home.

Right Front Caliper on Greg's Bike was locking up.

Even after this was massaged out of the equation, he is still not happy.

Gordon told him to bring it back and we would go deeper.

?????????Still not sure.

The tire was cupped pretty bad on the rear and the tire pressure was at 32 psi front and rear,

could be it.

????????????Maybe.

He has already performed the bearing mod and should not be that.

WHo knows.

Joe - next time around Spring City(Spring City Marina, slip L18), I have an old(1960)New Horizon sailboat there. It's in sad shape right now but I plan to rectify that before too long. L18 will be to your right as you enter the marina(you'll see several sailboats anchored there). boats name on th' stern is "NightWind"

I blew a rear bearing near La Cross  WI on the way to Inzane last year, they got a good crew at the Honda shop there.  Gave me a 30 mile trailer ride, fixed it right, I was on my way in 3 hours!  Caught up with Stude 31 and the boys at the North Michigan border bout 10PM. Had a lot of fun that trip. Hoser  cooldude

I Think as Valkyrie hard core riders.

We should carry at a minimum, plug kit, petcock rebuild kit, a alternator for the group, and

fuses of all kinds.

Anything I missed sorry, these things will get you home.

All of these have caused problems on trips I have been on.

People arriving with bad or balding tires, please take care of this before you leave.

I am more than sore as I get older after helping a person change a tire.

But will do this at the drop of a hat, cause that is the way we ride.

Don't ever leave a person behind.

These are older bikes, please keep this in mind when responding to a rally.

Could make it more fun for all if done right.

Here's a few more pictures from today's ride and the aftermath of checking out Greg's bike up at Gordon's ( Lucky 13 ) place.
Big Al

Greg

Gordon is still out of riding with his mashed off finger thanks to my wood splitter  Shocked
I don't know where this " helmet for a test ride " came from but I do know it does'nt fit Al's big bucket head  Smiley

As stated above Greg was having a few issues with his bike ....Brake sticking and clicking in the rear they paln to address that problem tomorrow....There's that " NUB " again in this photo  Smiley
