I got a few sunny miles in today..........70° here for a change.  Anyway Im cruising along thinking how sweet shes running when all of a sudden I hear her missing, kinda bogging down at a suttle increase in throttle......all was fine with a fistful and and then I tried a suttle increase again and all was fine.  A little while later I heard the same faint hesitation.  Then I noticed there was the same dodge ram V8 dual exhaust 4x4 next to me that was next to me a ways back.  So I speed up....bike is runing strong, sounds great, no problems........then I slow and let that dodge get next to me again and all of a sudden if feels like shes missing.  It had to be exhaust reverberation between me and the Dodge, cause as soon as I got away from him there was no problem.

Very strange

Smiley I know when you get more than one Valk running together, you can set up some oscillations that sound strange the first time you hear it.

I have heard that a Dodge will suck the life out of you under the right conditions.

You found yet another.

Did he have a Hemi?

I Love That Syncopation of engines on the highway! However, I have heard so many members of this group that are solidly against Side by Side Riding. IMO, I would not worry about the risk on an open road, just to get to have that feeling/share the feelling. After all, we are out there. Our exposure to risk in inherently quite high already.  Smiley

My buddies HD used to do the same to me.  Harmonics between his exhaust and mine would always have me thinking mine was skipping.

alph,
We should get that going again this summer. I'd love to go for a ride with some fellow Valk riders. I'm not too far away in Winona. You doing the Flood Run or the Nut Run?

One trip out to Hotglues BBQ We stopped for gas and Robert said "there is something wrong with my bike I think I'm going to turn around and head home. I asked what it was and he said It was making a strange sound. I told him to swap spots with me and take the lead for a while. Our exhaust notes were trying to sync up and it was driving him crazy.  Cheesy

I was following 'Scott in OK' going to Arizona, from Varmit's house way back when.    He had 6X6 pipes on and it sounded like my engine was knocking.   I backed way off, it quit, so I run back up in behind him and when it started the knocking noise again I noticed the closer I got the louder it got, then I realized what it was, so I just picked a happy medium and let it go at that.

I'm familiar with the audible harmonics, but unless I'm mistaken, Chris is saying it actually bogged down.  Was it a change in performance, or just in sound?  If it was sound, I concur with the diagnosis.  If it was actual performance, then I want to hear more.

They got it right.........I only thought it was bogging down.  I have felt(heard) the harmonics thing while riding with other bikes, but never had a truck have that effect before....all is well

Good news.  I understand how that could happen, quite easily.  I'm just glad it was that easy of a "fix".
