Man, what a difference. I installed it with the potentiometer and really can tell a difference between off and on. My son helped me install it, and went for the test ride with me. I've felt like the Valk pulled the front wheel a little in the past, but there was no doubt that it did after the mod. The first time it got me by surprise as I got on it from a rolling start and felt the tire touch back down. I told my son I thought it came off the ground.  Shocked At the next intersection when we took off, there was no doubt that it came off the ground. I have never had a bike this big that had the power to do that. It could be addictive!!!   Evil  Grin

The simple ECT mod is one easy and simple solution for a bit of pep up to about 3500 RPM.
It is not going to make your bike a "Busa Beater" , but it works well with other minor tweaks. I would choose this modification over the Dyna module (just my opinion) if your bike is mostly stock.

Did you see my post about blowing air up into your tank where the Vac is? This might be plugged and hopefully you won't need that penny under the gas cap!

I dont have the pot on mine. Never a problem in 3 yrs. The advantage is you can turn it off. But i think it shuts off at a certain rpm anyway.

The ECT mod will provide 10 degrees of advance, which tapers of to no additional advance at 3400 rpm. This much advance may require high test gas and definitely (IMHO, though opinions vary) mid grade. Too much advance can cause engine damage. So the potentiometer allows you to adjust the advance to your liking or if you can only find regular.
I believe 10 degrees would be too much for an IS or if running an IS ICM.

Fudgie, I did see that. I did that back last summer when troubleshooting. It didn't help. I also ran a wire up into the vent line in the tank a month or so ago to see if there was an obstruction there. Still didn't help. I checked the vent line again and pulled it down as suggested to make sure there wasn't a kink in it. Weather has been cool on the days that I have ridden, and I haven't had a chance to ride much  when the weather has warmer, so don't know yet if that fixed it. I will keep y'all posted.
