CASTLE HILLS (Carrollton/Lewisville Texas Area)

« on: February 19, 2011, 07:18:00 AM »

Sunday February 27th has been scheduled for the DFW VRCC Wrench Party.
I will have two lifts and plenty of parking and work areas. Hours are from can-to-cain't.

It was mentioned at last months affair that Rain Maker would bring along his magical CB tuning tools, so if any need to range set their CB's, should be able to accomplish at this event.

Also, if I recall, BnTom was supposed to bring along a couple of the brighter brake light element, similar to what Disco uses. I plan on purchasing one. Disco Dave by the way, is also the keeper of the Football (the DFW VRCC Tool Kit).

I'm still not convinced of the Darkside option for my own steed, but am willing to listen with an open mind to the point of adding my order to a bulk purchase being discussed elsewhere on this board.

Although I do not possess the culinary talents of Nora, I will have ample amounts of man-food: hamburgers, brats, dogs, beans and potato salad. Cigars for desert. Come hungry.

My Fire Base is located in the Castle Hills community at 2633 Camille Drive, Lewisville, TX 75056. But … don’t go to Lewisville expecting a quick find. We are not in Lewisville, 5 miles to the East of it in fact. We are in the Township of Hebron, stripped annexed by Carrollton with a ZIP code of The Colony. Cross roads are Hebron Parkway and Josey Lane. Most up to date GPS’s have us pretty well pegged, as does Google Earth. PM or call me if you need directions. FORRECCO@msn.com (214) 448-7711.

Forgot to mention: Garages and driveway are accessed from the alley at the rear or north side of the house. Use caution when riding in alley. It is usually very wet and often slippery (underground aquifer of some sort). Access ONLY from the east side, either up the east side of the house off Camille or west off Sir Constatine.

I will have a crew there Sunday morning with a lawn blower drying the pavement and blowing any debrie down the alleyway.

Nay say you O Yoda Master.

The last mention of the L.E.D tail/brake lights (from Mansfield wp) was my request for a show of hands to see if we could get a discount for 'multiples' on the RADIANTZ led replacement.  I think it retails for $99 and goes for $89 on Amazon.  It's been touted as the brightest replacement on the market.

I still have not pulled the trigger on that piece of equipment.

Anticipating a breakdown in the supply officer's group buy efforts, I went ahead and ordered one.  It might well be installed by the time of the wrench party for y'all to gaze upon with envy.

I don't think I'll be at this wrench party as the spousal unit has declared I had too much fun yesterday, leaving at 7:45 and not returning until 5:00PM.  Kitchen pass revoked for the rest of the month... Angry

I have the SWR meter.  I plan on attending the WP but if I can't make it I'll make sure it gets into someones hands that will be there.

Looks like Lisa took pity upon me once again.  I'll be there unless work calls and wants something.  I may get ya'll to instruct me on the drive splines.  I'll wait on the Darkside, unless something financial changes here.  Thanks to John my clutch, front and rear fluids are done.  Any suggestions on other fluids to change?  I'm open to ideas.  I will bring cash to replace whatever fluids I may need.  I will be able to stay all day so whatever is decided, time will not be an issue.  Also what is the price of those RADIATZ and the mod??  That may be a possibility but again depending on financial obligations.  I look forward to seeing and meeting everyone.

Been awhile since I was able to make a party. If I can gather up all my parts, is anyone up to any or all of the following.

Rear end service, would like to go ahead and go Darkside.
Front brakes and bearings.
Rear brakes and bearings.
Clutch bushing
Headlight relay
Carb springs

I am probably forgetting something. I am definitely going to bleed off the hydraulics.

Guess I will, too.  The best deal I found was on eBay ($89 instead of $99) but I don't remember the shipping & handling charges.

Another subject that was discussed at the last feast wrench party was brighter-than-oem turn signal bulbs.  I'm running 3496 up front and 3497 in the rear.  Available at your local auto parts store.

Ghillie, IIRC, you've wanted to service your splines etc for some time.  We should make that a priority.  Breaks and bearings aren't that bad if we already have your bike taken halfway apart.

6 Guns, et al; I'm guessing anytime after 10 would be fine to start. Mostly depends on what time Disco will arrive with the Football. We can STS & drink coffee until he does.

I just spoke with Disco and he says he can be there whenever he's needed.  He also said he could bring an extra lift and adapter over between now and then.

Two lifts have I do. Depends on how many up-in-the-air procedures are needed and competent, unargumentative mechanics available to perform such deeds.

Would also mean you'd have to 4 wheel it rather than ride, unless in the area and want to drop it off the day before. I can return it the following day.

Two may be enough, but it sounds like Ghillie's bike will dominate one lift for a good part of the day.

If we need another, I'll bring it ahead of time.  I need to ride to the WP.  I understand there will be electrical expertise there that I don't possess myself.

So, let's try to get an idea of who is going to need the use of a lift and adapter.

Roger that Disco .... I'll issue the NOTAM (Notice to All Members)

Dragon Masters: If you have a project which you feel will require the use of a bike lift, please advise herein. We currently have two lifts avalable for the Wrench Party and a 3rd offered if it is needed. Give a show of hands of what projects will required the extended use of a lift.

Sneak over I might as the spousal unit, at a gig until 4:00pm, will be.  Plow up the garden I must do but that will take too long not.  Need a lift I will not - just coming for the fellowship and burgers I am.  Herh herh herh.

Microsoft Windows Active Directory administration and troubleshooting.  Being unemployed now I have to update and sharpen my skills or I will fade into obscurity.  I've got to get up to date on VMWare also.

I was working for a poor company for too long, we haven't upgraded anything in over four years and I am off of the bleeding edge of technology.   Sad
