Got a question for all ya'll valk guru's. Last weekend I filled the gas tank about 30 miles from home and headed that way. When I got home I parked the valk in the carport as usual and shut the petcock off.
A few days later I started smelling a faint oder if gas around the bike. There are no signes of gas leaking on the floor or anywhere on the bike itself. Just wanting to know what to look for if possible hudrolocked or other possible causes of the smell.
                                            TIA,

My bike has often smelled of gas, and I never found where it came from.  For years.  It wasn't hydrolock, though.  I just got used to it, as part of the bike's character.  Hasn't smelled in recent years though.  Musta fixed itself.  BTW, I have installed a dan-marc electric fuel shutoff.  Just in case.  Here's the writeup. if you want to spend $30 or so and an afternoon for peace of mind.

A lot of things can cause a fuel smell.. Whenever I start these monsters I barely tap the start button. They'll still usually start on the first or second tap.. If you ever hear the dreaded 'CLUNK' , stop, pull all the sparklers and clear the cylinders.. This will also show you which float is sticking..
