Hello to all,
Ebay has a SHARK SOUND SYSTEM w/FM radio, amp & 2 speakers for $69.91[item 300454885667].
Does anyone out there have one? Is it loud enough when the fat lady roars down the road? The price is right but is it good. If not do you have any reasonable suggestions?

Not a bad unit at all. I have one mounted on my solo bike and can hear it at 75 mph. Here's a link where I got mine. They also have the handle bar clamps. Here's a picture on my solo bike. I would order the black speakers. The chrome looks good but when the sun hits them they will blind you.

Wow.  Your ears are much better than mine.  Actually I know I left some hearing in the nam.  Anyway, my system has 4 Alpine coax 4" speakers, a 400watt Blaupunkt amp, and a preamp/mixer which amplifies the output from any player plugged into it - presently either an Ipod or a Zumo 550.  Anyways - at 75 I can still tell it's playing, but can't really enjoy the tunes so for sustained highway speeds I usually pause the player.  With an OEM windshield and half helmet.  Doesn't really bother me, I'm good with variety in my riding experience.  And most of my Valk riding isn't on the slab anymore anyway.  But if I leave the tunes dialed up while in town - I know it must be pretty loud because all the pedestrians are rockin along.  Oops.  Time to dial it down...

I've been using this for 3 years now and I love it. I can hear it at 75 mph no problem.

I had these on my GL1100;
http://www.motorcycletunes.com/products.asp?cat=221
Harley spotlight housings, clamps, wiring all included.
Sounded great up to hi-way speeds, then dropped out. But that was with the 200 watt amp; they now sell a 500 watt amp which would be fine unless you have Cobras or two bros.

I had a set of them and sold them. Believe it or not the cheap speakers I have on my solo out played them. Here's a picture when I had them on my tourer. I replaced them with the cheaper speakers.

Hey there..... I have the Motrocycletunes.com Speakers on my Death Horse. I have two 4 inch speakers on the handlebars and then two 5 1/2 inch speakers on the crash Bars.... Then I have a Pyle 1000 watt marine amp pushing it that sits nicely in the toolbox under the seat. 115 mph at Richmond International Raceway and could here them clear as a bell.

Wow.  That's the first sound system I've heard of, on a Valk, with that much power.  And the first I've heard of, with more watts than mine.  Makes me curious, if you did something to generate more juice to power it, or if you just don't run the volume too high most of the time.  Of course you could borrow from the battery for awhile, longer if it's oversize - but too long and you'll hurt your alternator.  As you may know, the stock alternator is 546 watts.  I have a Compufire alternator, 1.3kW.  I don't run the stereo long, with the engine off - even with my oversize Gold Wing battery.  Just sometimes, while pumping gas.

Been using their system for a couple of years, I figure the speakers alone are worth the price the system sells for. I don't think any speaker system is going to sound good above 50-60 mph. Anymore I mostly use the bluetooth headsets from gooddeals18.com this gives you intercom along with other features, and the music from your cell or MP3 sounds great at any speed.

I disagree. I got 2- 2" speakers mounted under my b'wing and can here them just fine at 75 mph with no helmet. Even hear them better when I wear a sock cap. Depending on the music to. I can hear my Marilyn Manson better then my Chris LeDoux.

If I go to a 'Larger Goldwing Battery' will I have to modify the tool tray or anything? Can I use it with the stock alternator (I'll be getting the hi power alternator in the next year)? Is there a model designation for other makes or do I need a stock GW unit?
Sorry for the hijack, but I didn't want to start an new thread for a simple question.
Thanx, Fred.

Main amp is 400 watts class D Blaupunkt.  Several other components - mixer, preamp, filters and capacitors, 4 alpine 4" coax speakers.

If I recall compufire sells the stock GW Yuasa battery with their alternator.  I use the GW battery, matches well with the alternator.  You have to do some cutting in the battery box.  In fact I run mine fore-aft with the amplifier along side it. A Dremel with the right cutters works well.  I think it's OK to use the bigger battery with the stock alternator, but you have to upgrade the battery if you upgrade the alternator.  I ruined a new stock battery with the 90 amp Compufire.
