Yesterday (Sunday, 2/27/11) was our 23rd Wedding Anniversary.

We spent the better part of the day loading our toy hauler, getting the bikes prepped and loaded. We got filthy dirty crawling around the driveway and on the floor of the trailer, moving stuff into the truck, getting our "warm weather wardrobe" clean and chosen. We had custom vest extenders made by a local leather shop and got our dog carrier ready.

Not the way most couples spend their anniversary, but we're not like most couples. As a matter of fact we spent our Honeymoon in Florida, during Bike Week 1988. We went out to dinner at a romantic little Italian resturant (Roman Village) in an old grimy industrial part of town, but the ambiance and food were superb.

We are leaving Wednesday ewening and by Friday we should be riding in sunny southern Florida. We are first visiting our daughter, her boyfreind, and his family in Punta Gorda. Then on to an RV park in Mims on the Atlantic coast.

Thank God for a good tax refund,...and a great wife!

Happy Anniversary to ya'll.

Has ya ever rode the loop in Daytona?

If not, get a map and go for it.  Nice ride down some tree over draped streets.   Takes like 30 to 45 minutes if memory serves me correctly.

We always staid on A1A up where it heads North as a 2 laner, in a Tall Motel that also had cabins to the South of it.   Right in there somewhere is where the start of the loop is.    Been awhile since we been to Bike Week, so my fur getter has done fur got.   We used to always get the cabin the furthest from the Motel and the closest to the beach in that area.   There was a fence right alsong side of the drivve that separated the Motel from a Condo I think it was.

RJ,

We do the "Loop" every time we go to Daytona.

My wife is so committed to motorcycling that she was been taking the MSF Rider Instructor Course and she is our ABATE Region 14 Secratary. While doing Swap Meets and the IMS shows, she sells more memberships and raffle tickets than just about any woman I have ever seen.

Yep, she's a keeper.
